WORK ABOUT
INDIA

India, whose territory lies

entirely within the northern hemisphere, is
separated from the Asian continent by the
Himalayas. Furthermore, the country is
surrounded by the Bay of Bengal in the east,
the Arabian Sea in the west and the Indian
Ocean in the south.

In the North there is a lot of fog and the

climate is cold, with December and January
being the peak of low temperatures (an
average of 8°C at night and 20°C during the
day).

We can distinguish several geographical

features that delimit the country. To the
north the Himalayan mountain range (200-

300 km2), which acts as a natural barrier,

forming the border with China. The Arabian
Sea extends to the west, washing its coasts
and joining the Indian Ocean to the south. To
the east is the Bay of Bengal.

Its extensive river plains also stand

out, with rivers such as the Indus, Ganges
and Brahmaputra. At the same time it has
the Indian desert and the salt marshes. The
Mecan is its main plateau, separating various
interior geographical areas.

Some of its most typical animals are:

Malabar squirrel, Nilgiri langur, Nilgiri
marten, Nilgiri tahr, Purple frog, Gray
cockerel, Equus hemionus khur, Blowit owl,...

In short, it is a perfect place for those who love

the cold, but whoever visits it should be careful with the
fog because the fog complicates vision.
