Electronic Discharge Summaries

New easier to read summary format which includes test results, sign
up today!
Did you know that there is an improved discharge summary format available called Clinical Document
Architecture (CDA) for discharge summaries that are sent electronically to your practice software?

CDA presents summaries in a more legible and structured format which includes Pathology and
Radiology results, as shown below.

Is my practice software compatible?

Queensland Health (QH) is successfully sending electronic discharge summaries in CDA format to
practices that are using the following practice management systems:
• Best Practice LAVA edition or higher (includes • Medical Director v 3.16b or higher
Indigo) • ZedMed all versions
• Genie V8.8.6 or higher • MMex V22.1.3.1
Note: If your system is not listed above, please contact your vendor to discuss their plans for supporting CDA format.

How do I enable my practice to receive summaries in CDA format?

If you currently receive electronic discharge summaries, please email EDSTV-Corro@health.qld.gov.au
with your practice software details. You will be signed up for CDA testing, and on completion your practice
will be enabled.

How can I sign up for electronic delivery?

If you are not already signed up for electronic delivery of discharge summaries, please complete the Secure
