BSBCMM411 – Diploma of Graphic Design

There are two (2) principles of effective communication.

1. Persuasive Communication Techniques

2. Verbal and Non-Verbal Techniques

Task 3 – Presentation 1

Persuasion is defined as the act of trying to convince someone of something, or the means of
convincing someone to do something. When someone lists all the reasons why you should do
something, this is an example of persuasion.

Create a design that you feel represents what Persuasive Communication Techniques are. Choose a
target market for the design to be pitched to. You will be presenting your design to others at the
end.

When creating your design, define the following:

Prior to your Presentation

☐ Who is your target market?

☐ What format are you using to pitch your

design?

☐ In summary, what is the key concept of your

design?

☐ In your presentation, how will you allow for

questions?

☐ How will you confirm that your audience

understands your key concept?

☐ What materials or aids will you use?

After your Presentation

☐ Do you feel your pitch went?

☐ Did you get your point across as intended?

☐ Ask for feedback. What was some of the

feedback provided to you?

☐ What changes would you make for next

time?
