In that on the 24th Day of April 2024 and at Center Store, Featherstone Edson Chikuku, Cannan
Nzembe, Hambira Gift, Boswel Bequiet, Learnmore Maunga, Sean Makuvatsine and Tafara Tsine one or
all of them unlawfully and without authority cuts and destroyed trees.

OUTLINE OF THE STATE CASE

Facts

1. The Complainant is the State.

2. Accused 1 is a male adult residing at 9119 Kuwadzana 3 Harare and is not employed.Accused 2 is
a male adult residing at 111Mbare Harare and is not employed.Accused 3 is a male adult
residing at 1415 Southlea Park Harare and is not employed. Accused 4 is a male adult residing
1365 Waterfalls Harare and is not employed. Accused 5 is a male adult residing at 1113
Southlea Park Harare and is not employed.Accused 6 is a male adult residing at Plot 10 Tradou
Farm Featherstone and is not employed.Accused 7 is a male adult residing at 1127 Southlea Park
Harare and is not employed. Accused 8 is a male adult residing at 119 Retreat Waterfalls and is
not employed and Accused is a male adult residing at 2021 Waterfalls Harare and not employed.
3. On 24 April 2024 the accused persons all of whom are not employed drove to Manhize
Mountain Range in Featherstone in 3 motor vehicles , a red Daf LF Reg no. AGJ 0225, a White
Mercedes Benz Atego Reg no. ABN 1017 and a Blue Mercedes Benz Axor Reg no. AES 0598.
4. Whilst there,the accused persons harvested firewood which they loaded onto the vehicles
without authority.
5. The Accused persons were making their way back to Harare at about 1200hrs when they were
intercepted at a Police Roadblock at 103 Km Peg along Harare-Masvingo road leading to their
arrest as they had no permit to remove the firewood.
6. The value of the firewood is yet to be ascertained.
7. Accused acted unlawfully.
