Trends and Issues

Natural criminology, as a subfield of criminology, centers on wrongdoing designs inside

particular common and built situations and explores the impacts of these outside factors

on people's cognitive behavior. The essential objective of criminology is to avoid and

control wrongdoing, and when it comes to the environment, it can be isolated into two

wide categories: wrongdoings against the environment and wrongdoing scenes including

natural variables. Distinguishing wrongdoing scenes based on natural variables is

separated into three wide categories: characteristic, built, and social. Building and scene

components are the two sorts of built components. This investigate think about is

anticipated to distinguish how cities, neighborhoods, open buildings, and private

residences can control and anticipate criminal episodes and the characteristic

environment based on normal and built natural variables. The purposive examining

strategy was utilized in the inquire about ponder, and the reason of this consider was to

select a assorted run of detailed wrongdoing cases from the Western Territory of Sri

Lanka for 18 months (2017–2019). Kill, assault, child sexual manhandle, grave ambush,

burglary, burglary, and theft were chosen as grave wrongdoings for the ponder, and 115

wrongdoing scenes were watched. The fundamental objective of this criminological

inquire about consider was to center on and distinguish the related environmental

variables. In urban and semi-urban zones, built and social natural variables have been

major criminogenic components. Characteristic eco-elements were a source of

wrongdoing in semi-urban regions. Each sort of genuine wrongdoing watched had

prevailing built and social eco components that shifted depending on the crime's area and

the wrongdoer and victimized parties' schedule exercises. Taking after more in-depth

inquire about, controlling and anticipating wrongdoing can be accomplished through the

administration of natural components.

Objectives and Contributions of the Study

Natural criminology is a family of speculations that share a common intrigued in criminal

occasions and the prompt circumstances in which they happen. Concurring to

Brantingham and Brantingham (1991, p. 2), ‘environmental criminology contends that

criminal occasions must be caught on as confluences of guilty parties, casualties or

criminal targets and laws in particular settings at specific times and places’. Natural

criminologists see for wrongdoing designs and look for to clarify them in terms of natural

impacts. From these clarifications they infer rules that empower expectations to be made

around developing wrongdoing issues and that eventually advise the improvement of

methodologies that might be utilized to anticipate wrongdoing.

Proposed Statement of the Problem

The majority of violent behavior is taught. Seeing physical abuse or acts of violence in the

home might expose children to violence at a young age. According to research, these

types of early exposure to violence can raise a child’s likelihood of acting violently as an

adolescent by up to 40%. Research indicates that children are still at danger of violence

even in the absence of parental modeling of violence because they lack strong social

relationships and restraints and parents who fail to instill in their children the conventional

norms and values. In certain neighborhoods, there are also chances to learn about and

practice violence. In addition to providing high amounts of exposure to violence, the

existence of gangs and illegal markets, notably drug distribution networks, also gives

violent role models.

Proposed Methods and Techniques

Criminology envelops a number of disciplines, drawing on methods and techniques

created in both the common and the social sciences. As do other disciplines, criminology

recognizes between unadulterated and connected inquire about and between measurable

and natural ways of considering. More than most other disciplines, in any case,

criminological investigate depends upon the willing participation of administrative offices

and other open specialists for the arrangement of fundamental information.

Proposed Respondents of the Study

Law Enforcement Officials: Police officers, detectives, and other law enforcement officials

involved in implementing and managing the strategies being explored. Their insights can

provide firsthand viewpoints on the usefulness of certain practices. Community Members:

Residents of the regions where the interventions are taking place can offer significant

insights regarding their sense of safety, their encounters with crime, and their
