The Fly
Materials & Tools
★ Black, white, and dark red worsted weight yarn. Alternatively, you can
use dark green and dark blue yarn for a horsefly! Baby weight or
bulky yarn could also be used. It’s up to you!
★ Crochet hook (I used a 3.75mm hook for my fly but you can use any
size that’s appropriate.)
★ Polyester stuffing
★ Yarn needle
★ Scissors
★ Stitch marker
★ Sewing pins
★ Two large red buttons for eyes (optional)
Abbreviations
★ Mc- Magic circle
★ Sc- Single crochet
★ Inc- Increase
★ Dec- Invisible decrease (Go through the front loops of the next 2
stitches, yarn over, and pull through both loops. Yarn over and pull all
the way through)
★ Ch- Chain
★ Slst- slip stitch
★ F/o- Finish off

Sewing!
1) Sew on the eyes. If you crocheted them, stuff them when you have a little space left,
then finish sewing to the body. Make sure they're spaced off to the sides of the face. .
Hide yarn end inside the body.
2) Sew on the nose to the center of the face. You can use the “swirl” as a guide for sewing.
Hide yarn inside the body when finished.

3) Sew on the wings, leaving a little gap between them. Try to center them on the top of the
body. Hide yarn inside the body.
4) Sew on the feet. You may lightly stuff them before you put them on, but it's optional. I
placed the center foot outward a little to make them curve with the body a bit, and it
makes the doll sturdier.
