HAZARDOUS WASTE HANDLING TRAINING EVALUATION

After carry out hazardous waste handling training, carried out evaluation to results from implementation of
training. As for training evaluation is carried out with evaluate on four levels, namely:

Level 1 (Reaction)
Aspects that are measured is level satisfaction training participants towards implementation of training,
including element materials, organization, facilities, and ability instructor.

Table 1. Level of Satisfaction Employee to Implementation Training

Mark average
Element Sub Elements Weight (%) weight per
element
Systematics presentation material 95.8
Clarity / ease for understood 94.4
MATERIAL Contribution in enhancement knowledge 97.2 95.26
Benefit in work 91.7
Suitability with objective training 97.2
Suitability giving material with schedule
93.1
ORGANIZATION that has been set 87.5
Appropriate time in implementation training 81.9
Facility room (table, chairs) 72.2
MEANS 71.5
Room (light, spacious, acoustics, ventilation) 70.8
Mastery material 93.1
Technique delivery 94.4
How to answer question 90.3
INSTRUCTOR 89.8
ABILITIES Language used 86.1
Gesture (movement body) and
83.3
expression advance
Intonation and speed speak 91.7

Level of satisfaction participant to implementation training (level 1) is visible that level satisfaction
participant ranges from 71-95%. It means participant show positive reaction (feel satisfied on
implementation of training) because realize get useful input during training. Still elements need improved
again is from element means, both sub elements from means that is facility room and room own low
weight compared to with sub elements other.

Level 2 (Learning)
Aspects that are measured is knowledge employees towards training material. For every training material
is designed with purposeful question items for measure how much big power absorb material by PIC of
TPS B3. Question items the given to PIC of TPS B3 on moment before (pre test) and after training (post
test). The following are the results of the PIC TPS B3 pre test and post test:

Table 2. Pre Test and Post Test Results of PIC TPS B3

2nd training Pre Test Post Test
Difference
participant Score Score
1 40 85 45
2 60 90 30
Average 50.00% 87.50% 37.50%

The table above shows that of the 2 people who served as PIC of TPS B3 who took part in the training,
both employees (100%) experienced an increase in knowledge. The average pre test score for the two
employees was 50.00% and the average post test score for the two employees was 87.50%, so there
was an increase in the average employee knowledge of 37.50%.
Level 3 (Application)
At this level, evaluation is carried out using the observation method on PIC’s who have
participated in training in handling B3 waste. Before being given training, basically the PIC's behavior
regarding handling B3 waste was in accordance with the provisions and duties of each. For example,
employees understand the classification of B3 waste, apply procedures and techniques for handling,
packaging, storing and disposing of B3 waste according to their type, implement procedures for B3 waste
minimization, understand the risk of exposure to B3 waste, maintain B3 waste TPS so that they comply
with standards. that have been determined, understand how to record B3 waste entering and leaving the
B3 TPS, and know the type of PPE used when handling B3 waste. However, there are problems related
to handling B3 waste, namely that there are still many check lists that have not been filled in by the PIC.
The results of observations show that there are differences in behavior among PIC’s regarding
handling B3 waste in the workplace, for example, in filling out the check list at the B3 TPS. Before the
training was given, there were only five check lists filled in (25%) out of a total of 20 existing check lists.
However, after being given training, it was seen that there were 12 check lists (60%) that were filled in
every working day.
So, from the results of these observations, even though not all of the check lists (100%) have
been filled, it can be said that there has been an increase in PIC’s behavior and awareness by 35% to fill
in the check lists every working day after being given training regarding handling B3 waste.

Level 4 (Impact)
At this level, the evaluation shows that there is an increase in the performance of PIC TPS B3 on filling in
the check list for emergency lamp, emergency alarm, eyewash, APAR, PPE, first aid, and maintenance of
TPS B3.
