EXCERPTS FROM THE MINUTES OF THE LIGA NG MGA BARANGAY, SAN AGUSTIN
CHAPTER, REGULAR SESSION HELD ON DECEMBER 15, 2023 AT 9:00 IN THE MORNING
AT BARANGAY HALL OF POBLACION, SAN AGUSTIN, ROMBLON.

The session started at 9:10 am in the morning.

Before the session started, there was an opening prayer led by PB. Sulpicio Machado of Brgy Binonga-an
followed by all members of the Liga Council.

The Order of the session was called. Before coming in activities of the session, the ABC Ruben Monzales of
PB Buli asked the Liga Secretary if there were enough attendees in session. Because all the members of the
Assembly were all present, the discussion began.

PB Ruben Monzales instructed the Liga Secretary to report on the previous meeting about the activities of
the Liga Election and also explained that everyone has given the registration fee and updated the Liga dues.
The 15 barangays of Liga San Agustin, Romblon Chapter have updated their respective Liga dues and
registration fees.

PB outgoing ABC Ruben Monzales explained about the procedures and objectives of the Liga Election. He
also introduced the committees that will handle the Liga Election. Nelly Tan – CSO President, PB Claro
Madrillejos III (Brgy Carmen) and PB Redemeer Solano (Brgy Dubduban), they are the Board of Election
Supervisors. PB Ruben Monzales (Brgy Buli), PB Sulpicio Machado (Brgy Binonga-an) and PB Elizabeth
Mindo (Brgy. Dona Juana) are the Election Committees. The committees in the Board of Canvassers are Pb
Ruben Monzales (Brgy Buli), PB Edgar Manes (Brgy Cagboa-aya) and PB Salustiano Galigao (Brgy
Cawayan). After introducing the committees that will handle the Liga Election, outgoing ABC President
Ruben Monzales asked if there were any questions or additions to his explanation. PB Redemeer Solano
asked if the BOD would choose only six. Outgoing ABC Ruben Monzales said that according to our
previous meeting, it was agreed that all the Punong Barangays who were left will be made into a Board of
Directors which was agreed by all the Punong Barangays. Since there were no questions, the proper election
was started.

PB Ruben Monzales once again instructed the Liga Secretary to read the PB candidates according to their
chosen race. And these are the following:

Liga President – PB Ruben Montesa (unopposed)

Liga Vice-President - PB Natalio C. Montesa (unopposed)
Liga Auditor - PB Ruben Monzales (unopposed)

Polling began at 10:05 am. After everyone has voted, the Board of Canvassers counted all the ballots in front
of the Barangay Chiefs. It immediately began to be read one by one who were voted by the Barangay Chiefs.
After being read, the results of the poll are as follows:

Liga President – PB Ruben Montesa (14 votes)

Liga Vice-President - PB Natalio C. Montesa (14 votes)
Liga Auditor - PB Ruben Monzales (14 votes)

Board of Directors
1. PB Helen Moton (14 votes) 5. Elizabeth Mindo (9 votes)
2. PB Esteban Mangao (12 votes) 6. Elmo Madalang (13 votes)

After the voting there was a proclamation and Oath of Office led by Mayor Esteban SF Madrona (Municipal
Mayor of San Agustin, Romblon). The good Mayor also gave a message to the Liga of Barangay San
Agustin, Romblon Chapter because of the successful election. He also conveyed the gratitude and unity of
each Barangay Chief so that each barangay under its jurisdiction can be successful and prosperous. Unity is
the key to the success of every barangay. The mayor also conveyed that the town of San Agustin is always
there to support every barangay.

The newly elected Liga President, PB Ruben Montesa, also expressed his gratitude to his electorate and the
goal of each barangay is the goal of each for the development of the barangay and the town of San Agustin.
Unity is also needed because each barangay has the same goal. Let's work together to develop the barangay
together. The development of the barangay is the development of the town, the development of the town is
the development of the province.

OTHER
The new Liga President, Ruben Montesa, immediately called a meeting after the Liga's election program. He
met the Board of Directors that, if possible, they will also elect a Liga Secretary and Liga Treasurer which
the BOD agreed to. They chose to be Liga Secretary is PB Elenita Mazo (Brgy. Sugod) and the Liga
Treasurer is PB Helen Moton (Brgy Bachawan).
It was also agreed to do the IRP at the next meeting of the Barangay Liga in San Agustin, Romblon Chapter.

Because all activities were already discussed, PB Helen Moton, proposed in assembly to terminate the
session and it was seconded by PB Elenita Mazo, and everyone that attended the session. The session ended
at 11:30 in the morning.
