raptalking)
ACTING AND INTERACTION: Marian is playing Marian, Irune is playing Irune and Tobey, Martina is playing
Martina and Georgia and June is playing June and the Voice. Marian, Irune, Martina and June are students who
are at the same school as Tobey. June and Martina meet Tobey when they go to the auditions and the same
happens with Marian, Irune and Georgia.
LANGUAGE (grammar structures and lexis): We use informal language. The grammar structures that we use
are: Present Simple, Past Simple, Present Perfect Simple, Past Perfect Simple, Future Simple, Passive Voice and
Modal Verbs.
WEBGRAPHY: We only use the book as an inspiration.
Where:
June sees in the newspaper the news of Tobey becoming famous due to Cloud 9. Martina and June like the
idea of participating and want to become famous like he did. June meets with her friends and tells them her
idea of going to that programme and becoming famous. Marian and Irune don't like the idea and say that is
crazy. They will support them by being in the public (where they meet Georgia, who tells them the bad things
about being famous) and the other two, Martina and June, go to the programme to participate and there they
meet Tobey who tells them the good parts about being famous.

SCRIPT:

JUNE’S BEDROOM

JUNE: (reading the newspaper) Oh my God! This is incredible! I was told at school about Tobey, the
prodigious boy, but I didn’t know that he finally reached his dream of participating at Cloud 9. It
would be so cool to be him! (reads more of her lecture) Oh! A gift sent from God! Anyone has the
opportunity to participate at Cloud 9 and become Tv stars! I have a lot of different ideas for my
talent. This is a great opportunity that only happens once in a lifetime. I should call the girls.

CLASSROOM

Martina, Marian, Irune and June are at school, June has got yesterday’s newspaper
IRUNE: June, you are freaking me out! Since you told us yesterday that you had very important news
I haven't been able to sleep.
MARIAN: Me neither. I hope that it isn’t a silly thing. Such mysterious news must be relevant.
JUNE: Look, look! (Martina takes the newspaper and reads with Irune and Marian the news)

IRUNE: Marian and I will support you as the public. We will go to any audition or recording day that
you plan
MARIAN: Yes! Irune, please, come with me! I want to take my notebook from the locker

MARTINA: Yes, let me show you
(Martina puts her headphones on and touches June’s neck)

MARTINA: No, it is vintage, my cousin gave it to me when she left for college.

OUTSIDE, WAITING TO ENTER TO THE MUSEUM WHERE THE AUDITION TAKES PART

(Irune, Marian, June and Martina are outside. Martina looks very nervous and June is revising her
audition)

IRUNE: C’mon girls! You will be fine

JUNE: I am really nervous! What if something goes wrong? What if I get lost? What if I forget the
words? What if they don’t like me?
MARIAN: You both have been practicing for a month. You will do great
MARTINA: I am also afraid, June, but remember that you were the one who encouraged me. We

JUNE: We are presenting ourselves to the auditions. We want to take part in Cloud 9, just as you did.
TOBEY: Really? That is fantastic news! Do you have any questions?
MARTINA: Could you tell us which things would you say that are the main rewards of fame?
TOBEY: Of course there is recognition and validation. Secondly, fame opens doors to various
opportunities in career advancement. And least, but not less important, many famous individuals
enjoy significant financial benefits.
JUNE: Can you be famous for the wrong reasons? I remember that at first everyone was laughing at
you because you lied about an autograph. They called you a freak for a long time.

MARTINA: True
TOBEY: Well, of course you can be famous for the wrong reasons. In fact, I was famous at school
because I lied. As you said. I told everyone that Johnny Depp wrote ‘’To Tobey, you are a real star’’
and I was recognised as the boy who had an autograph of one of the most famous actors. I was
famous, yes, but for being a liar. They considered me a freak, but guess who is now famous. If freak
refers to unusual and unique, yes, I consider myself a freak.
JUNE: And how did you lead with pressure? Were your parents okey with the idea of you
participating in Cloud 9?
MARTINA: Has your relationship with them changed?
TOBEY: I wasn’t really pressured by my parents as it was my idea. At first they hated the idea of me
being on TV, especially my dad. They called me foolish for a long time but they finally understood
that I was not going to stop until I reached my dream.
My friend Georgia was the one who felt pressured because I was succeeding in such a short time and
she had worked for a long time.
She felt ashamed but I showed her that we both are talented and we are the only ones that pressure
ourselves.
JUNE: And what are you going to do now with your fame?
TOBEY: Of course
save it for a long time!

AUDIENCE ZONE

(Marian and Irune sit next to Georgia)

MARIAN: Oh hi!
GEORGIA: Do we know each other?
IRUNE: Hello! This is Marian and I am Irune. We are here to see our friends participating. You are

have to be really aware of the consequences of the pressure.
MARIAN: Did you feel envious of Tobey?
GEORGIA: Yes, I remember we had a fight and we almost stopped being friends. We have to deal
with envy. We have to feel grateful for our friend’s and stop comparing ourselves with the other
peers.
MARIAN: What are you going to do now with your fame?
GEORGIA: As Tobey would say, save it for a long time

A FEW MONTHS LATER

VOICE: Few expected this result, but finally we have the Cloud 9 finalists: June and Martina. June,
