Vote of Thanks for the Inaugural Session of the Workshop on "National Biogas

Roadmap for Viksit Bharat"


On behalf of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, it is my honour and privilege to
deliver the vote of thanks for the inaugural session of today’s enlightening workshop on the
"National Biogas Roadmap for Viksit Bharat." This event, organized by the Ministry of New
and Renewable Energy in collaboration with the Indian Biogas Association and supported by
BDO India as our esteemed knowledge partner, marks a pivotal step towards realizing our
vision of a developed and sustainable India.
First and foremost, I sincerely thank Dr. Sangita M. Kasture, Scientist G at the Ministry of
New and Renewable Energy, for her warm welcome and comprehensive briefing. Her
opening remarks set the perfect tone for the day, emphasizing the critical need for a structured
roadmap to harness the full potential of biogas in our national energy strategy.

We are profoundly grateful to the distinguished representatives from Niti Aayog for their
invaluable address. Their insights into policy frameworks and strategic planning have
provided us with a clearer vision of biogas's role in achieving a self-reliant and sustainable

A special thank you goes to Shri Bhupinder Singh Bhalla sir, Secretary of the Ministry of
New and Renewable Energy, for his insightful special address. His leadership and dedication
to the renewable energy sector inspire us all to strive towards our common goals. His words
today reinforced our belief in biogas as a cornerstone of our renewable energy portfolio.

We are also immensely thankful to Ms. Vini Mahajan, Secretary of the Department of
Drinking Water and Sanitation, Ministry of Jal Shakti, for her inaugural address. Her
emphasis on the synergy between biogas initiatives and water sanitation projects has opened
new avenues for integrated development, ensuring our efforts are both environmentally
sustainable and beneficial to community health.

I would like to acknowledge the tireless efforts of the Indian Biogas Association in

contributions. Their insights and expertise have significantly enriched the discussions,
providing us with actionable strategies to advance the biogas sector.
The discussions and insights from this inaugural session have highlighted the urgent need for
a comprehensive National Biogas Roadmap, a critical component in achieving Viksit Bharat.
The valuable inputs from today’s session will be instrumental in shaping this roadmap,
guiding our efforts to harness biogas as a sustainable energy source in the near future.
Last but not least, I would like to thank all the participants and attendees for their active
engagement and contributions during this inaugural session. Your enthusiasm and
commitment to renewable energy are truly inspiring and essential for driving the biogas
roadmap forward.
In conclusion, today’s inaugural session has been a testament to the power of collaboration
