◦ INTIAL PTESENTATION

SUBMITTED TO:DR.MUHAMMAD USMAN ARSHID

SUBMITTED BY: ASJAD SHOAIB
REG.NO: 22-CE-185
SECTION:A
INTRODUCTION
◦ Purpose Of Investigation:
◦The purpose of this soil investigation is to assess the index properties
of the soil sample for its suitability for construction purposes. The
investigation aims to provide insights into the soil's engineering characteristics, which are
crucial for informed decision-making in construction projects. ◦ Scope Of Work:

◦The scope of this investigation involves comprehensive soil sampling, laboratory testing,
and analysis to determine key index properties. Various tests will be conducted to evaluate
the soil's suitability for foundation design, bearing capacity, and overall stability.

SOIL COLLECTION PROCEDURE

◦ ASTM D6906
SITE RECONNANISSANCE
It includes: Visual inspection, Acessibility assessment & Safety
consideration. The selection of sampling locations was done by
identifying different locations according to our requirements and site
characteristics.
We consider several factors such as soil types, topography.
We conducted a thorough site reconnaissance to identify potential sampling
locations, access locations, access routes, and any existing site features or
hazards and found that the site is suitable with respect to all these aspects as
it is located in easily acessible area connected by a network of roads and
highways.

COLLECTION TECHNIQUES
◦ We develop a sampling plan keeping in view the safety precautions and prepare any
available equipment for sample extruding.
◦ We use the available tool:
TROWEL
◦ We use the technique:
MECHANICAL SAMPLING.

◦ This technique involves manually drilling into the ground using a hand

equipement. It is suitable for shallow depths and softer

PRESERVATION TECHNIQUE
We properly preserve soil samples to maintain their integrity and prevent
any changes in physical or chemical properties. properties.
We store samples in airtight containers for this purpose.
We also maintain appropriate temperature
conditions to preserve soil
properties. Air Tight Packed

TRANSPORTATION PROTOCOL
We pack the samples securely to
protect them during
transportation, using air tight
plastic bags to prevent damage or
