How to replace a detector tube

ABSTRACT:

The purpose of this instruction is to replace a detector tube SAI.52.022 (ex10100625) for a Stratos
unit.

APPLICABILITY:

All Stratos units.


On unit between 2008 and 2010, it could be possible to have 0.5 cm out of the sheath.
An iron solder is requested to perform this replacement

DESCRIPTION:

First of all, you need to remove the arm upper cover and shut down the unit.
Remove the data cable and High voltage cable from the old detector and loose 3 HC screws .

1. Remove the upper cover

Remove the 12 CHC 3*10 screws Remove the 1 CHC 3*10 screw
around the cover which maintain the electronic

3. Remove the 8 CHC 3*10 screws in order to take off the electronic part and column

The 2 column
must be
unscrews

Separate the electronic and the tube.


1. Pull up the black part
2. Move away from metallic plate

4. Loose big screws CHC 6*10and push out the detector from his sheath.

Note the keyed position in order

5. Put the detector with is ground braid inside the metallic tube:

Put the shielding


09200110 at the same
distance you got on the
old detector

6. Tight CARREFULLY the detector (hand pressure) with the 2 CHC 6*10 screws.

The 2 screws must be only in contact with


the detector (No pressure,)
Do not use tool

If the vacuum tube is broken, because of


screws marks, it will not be accept under
warranty

7. Put back the detector electronic board (step 3)


8. Solder the detector braid on the electronic board (step 2)
9. Close the cover (Step 1) and put back the detector on the device.
10. Follow the calibration instruction in order to adjust and validate the device with the new
detector.
