Conduction, convection and radiation

1. Heat is the energy something has because of the movement of its particles,
measured in joules. Temperature refers to how hot or cold something is, measured in
degrees Celsius.

2. Heat transfer is 2 objects of diffirentlevels of heat moving close together and

exchanging heat so it levels out

3. Conduction is the process of heat being transmitted between objects through touch

4. Solids

5. Convection is the movement of particles in a single object, transferring their heat

energy so the whole object has the same amount of heat energy

6. Liquids and gases

7. Hot air rises as it is lighter than cool air, and has a lower density

8. Radiation is thermal energy that comes out at the speed of light in waves

9. Space radiation can occur due to the particles in Earth's atmosphere, particles shot
into space after solar flares and galactic cosmic rays

10. A pot of water being heated and a fireplace in a room with windows
