WILL

We use will: to express beliefs about the present or future. to talk about what people want to do
or are willing to do. to make promises, offers and requests.

Will: form
Affirmative form

The structure for a future tense with will is: subject + will + base of a verb.

NEGATIVE FORM

The structure of a negative future tense is: subject + will + not + base of a verb.

Remember, that won’t is a contraction of will not.

INTERROGATIVE FORM

Will + subject + base of a verb + complement


Future simple: will
Positive, negative, questions

we / play

they / paint

I / go

My son / study

it / rain

When using a future tense, going to is used to reference an event that has already been planned.

AFFIRMATIVE

Subject + verb BE + GOING TO + main verb + complement

NEGATIVE

Subject + verb BE IN NEGATIVE + GOING TO + main verb + complement

IINTERROGATIVE

Verb BE + subject + GOING TO + main verb + Complement + question mark (?)
