Simulator Flight
In-Flight you will be required to:
• Fly Raw Data - No Flight Directors, Autopilot or Auto-Thrust
• Call for relevant checklists
AFTER TAKE-OFF CHECKLIST when Landing Gear up and Flap Zero
APPROACH CHECKLIST when approach plan is reviewed
LANDING CHECKLIST when Landing Gear – DOWN and Flap Full

• Communicate with the Assessor if you wish to Go-Around


– The Instructor will direct you to continue or Go-Around
• Notes:
– Seatbelts and Harnesses shall be worn
– Briefings are not required
– Headsets are not worn and normal ATC calls are not required
– V Speeds for Take-off and the Approach Selected Speed “Bug” will be set for you

Take - Off Roll

Candidate:
• Release Parking Brake
• Stabilize Thrust at 1.1 EPR / 25%
• Advance Thrust to 2nd detent
• PM will Announce “Thrust Set”
• The PM will then announce:
– “100 Knots”
– “V1” (auto-callout)
– “Rotate” ( pitch to 170 / 12.50 )

Approach Procedure
Flap Speed Indications are the minimum for Flap configuration.
• Flap extension – select Flaps approximately 10 KT BEFORE each minimum speed to be at the
configuration by the minimum speed displayed.
• VREF – Selected by PM 139 / 135 Vapp

Go Around Procedure

• Go-Around (Maintain RWY HDG)


– Call “GO AROUND, FLAPS” and advance the Thrust Levers to TOGA.
– With climb, retract Landing Gear.

• YOU are responsible for Thrust settings, as per take-off.

Additional Notes
• Minima - Anticipate and decide accordingly
• Inertia / Momentum - Anticipate and allow time for effects
• Scan – Pitch Attitude and PFD selective radial scan, ND secondary
• Control Inputs - Avoid large or abrupt inputs or over-controlling
– Pitch Attitude & Auto Trimming – Change & Hold

• Engine Effects - Spool-up, Thrust Lever Alignment


• Flap Use
– Anticipate flap Extension – Start to configure on base leg
– Do not allow speed to reduce below Minimum Flap Speeds
– Pitch Attitude changes are required for speed and configuration changes
