B. PRE-START CHECKS:
After completion of pre-start checks and satisfied with all the observations
i. Check the condition of drill bit, replace the drill bit, if found blunt.
ii. Secure the mount blocks properly
iii. Always use the dust collector to eliminate air pollution due to dust
generation
iv. The drill helpers shall not stand near the drill machine when drilling
operation is in progress.
v. Don’t allow any adjustment/repair/maintenance work when machine is
in running condition,
vi. While shifting from one hole to another, the drill mast shall be in rest
position.
vii. Plug the drill holes properly after completion of required hole depth.
viii. Helper shall be always at visible angle to the drill operator.
ix. Ensure proper depth.
E. DURING SHIFTING:
i. Always use designated route while shifting from one location to another
ii. Always shift the machine away from the edge of the bench
iii. Make sure the mount blocks are taken out and mast is rested properly.
iv. Don’t block the haul road while shifting on haul road.
v. Always give way to dumpers, Motor grader, road roller and light
vehicles

vi. All hoses are tightened and fasten properly.
F. IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN:

2 . Scope: Mines
iii. Round the clock security shall be provided to ensure safety of the magazine.
iv. The area shall be well illuminated during the night hours.

v. The license no, valid date, date of next renewal, class and division wise explosive
capacity etc. shall be displaced on a board in front of the magazine gate.
vi. The dry sand buckets, fire-extinguishers, water etc. shall also be kept near the magazine
under a shed.
vii. The maximum quantity of explosives of each class at any one time shall not exceed the
quantity stipulated in the license for each class of explosive.
viii. The magazine shall be used only for storage of explosives specified in the license.
ix. No packages, containing explosives, shall be opened in the magazine. However, where
necessary, re-packing can be done.
xi. Explosives shall not be kept in the magazine after the expiry date.
xii. Whenever a thunder storm appears to be imminent in the vicinity of a magazine, every
person engaged in or about such a magazine shall be withdrawn to a safe place from the
magazine.
xiii. The records shall be maintained in RE3, RE5, RE6, RE7etcand produced on demand to
an inspecting officer.
xiv. Any accidents and all losses, shortage of stock and thefts of explosives shall be reported
without delay to the nearest police station and licensing authority.
xv. Washing and cleaning of explosive magazine shall be done after the removal of all
explosives.
xvi. No person shall smoke and no fires, lights, substances of flammable nature shall be
allowed in the premises of the magazine.
xvii. The magazine shall be securely closed or locked at all times except during delivery of
explosives for use.

xviii. The keys shall, at all times be kept secured in Magazine-in-Charge’s custody at
store.
xix. The explosives packages shall be stacked in such a manner as to allow movement of at
least one person to check the condition of all packages stored.
xx. Not more than 4 persons shall be allowed inside the magazine at any one time.
xxii. Loading, unloading and handling of explosives shall be done under the supervision of a
competent person – magazine-in-charge.
xxiii. No person shall handle or cause to be handled any explosives during night.
xxiv. After handling of explosives has commenced, the operators shall proceed with due
diligence and without unnecessary stoppage.
B. TRANSPORTATION OF EXPLOSIVES
1. Check the diesel, water in radiator, engine oil level, and refill if required.
5. Quantity of explosive transported at one time to the site of blasting shall not exceed
the actual quantity required for use in one round of shots and not more than 30
minutes before the commencement of charging of the holes.
7. Use only the approved explosive van for the transport of explosive from magazine.
8. Explosive van shall be provided with two fire extinguishers –one of DCP type for
petroleum fire and the other of carbon dioxide under pressure type for electrical fire-
suitably placed for immediate use.
10. Secure explosive carried on vehicles so as to prevent any part of the load from
becoming dislodging.
11. No person other than the authorized driver and the helper shall ride on the explosive
van.
13. Stop the engine of the explosive van and set the brake securely before it is
loaded or unloaded or unattended.

14. Arrange transfer of explosive from the magazine in such a way that no undue delay
occurs between the time the explosives leave the magazine and the time they reach
the blasting site.
15. Do not drive explosive van at a speed exceeding the speed approved by the
manager.NOT MORE THAN 25KM
16. Do not take vehicle loaded with explosives in to workshop and do not park in
congested places or near electrical substation/workshop.
19. Before any repair or alteration are made in any part of the explosive van , precaution
should be taken to remove any explosive or remnant and the space in which such
explosive has been carried should be thoroughly washed out to ensure that no
remnant of explosive remains there in.
20. The engineer should inspect explosive van once in 24 hours to ensure that –
c. The chassis, engine and body are clean and free from surplus oil and grease.
A report of every such inspection should be recorded in a bound paged Book kept for
the purpose and should be signed and dated by the said Engineer.
C. BLASTING OPERATION/CHARGING
ii. Comb, match box, lighter, persons with cloths which may produce static
electricity are not permitted within the radius of 30M of the blasting location
vi. On receipt of the explosive requisition, Magazine in charge shall issue the specified
quantity of explosives to a blaster/blasting foreman.
vii. Explosives shall be carrying in daylight and in the original packing cases.
viii. Charging process shall be continued in one hole at one face at one time.
ix. If there are any left out explosives, it shall be sent back to the magazine with a return
slip.
xi. The Magazine in charge shall record the issue quantity of explosives in a register and
shall inform the stores accordingly.
xii. Charging, stemming and connecting shall be done while standing on the side of
holes remote from the quarry face.
xiii. Do not fire the shots except during the hours of daylight
.
xiv. Fire all the shot holes on the same day, which are charged on that day. In case of
any unforeseen situations or inherent danger to men or machine, the firing may be
deferred to next day with the permission of Mines Manager.
xv. Demark the danger zone distinctly by means of red flag and post guards wherever it
is necessary. Ten minutes before firing blow the siren three times for one minute
each at interval of one minute.
v. The blasting foreman and Blaster, before any person enters the place, shall
make a careful examination of the place and make it safe.
vi. Red Flags and the guards posted shall not be withdrawn until all clear signals
are given.
viii. After completion of blasting, blow the Siren to give all clear signal.
ix. At the end of shift blaster shall make his report in a Blaster Diary.
ii. The shot is charged, stemmed or fired after taking adequate shelter.
iii. He shall also take suitable steps to prevent any person from approaching the shot
and himself take adequate shelter along with his assistants.
iv. He shall post guards at all possible entrances and fence them.
vi. He shall withdraw all persons within the danger zone (500 meters)
vii. During the blasting in the vicinity of State Highway (By pass road) post two
competent persons at the two extreme points of the road with proper means of
communication.
viii. Don’t fire the shots before the clearance from both the persons deputed.
ix. The siren shall be blown three times of one minute interval before firing.
x. After blasting is over blaster shall, by means of efficient signals communicate to the
guards and deputed persons for clearance.
• During the approach and progress of an electric storm, the following precautions shall be
taken –
− Neither explosives nor detonators shall be handled.
− If charging operations have been commenced, the work shall be discontinued until
storm has passed.
− If the blast is to be fired electrically all exposed wires shall be coiled up and if
possible, placed in the mouth of the holes or kept covered by something other than a
metal plate.
− If the firing circuit has been set up before the thunder storm came on the persons at
the site should withdraw at the earliest and the blast should be fired off immediately.
• Carryout visual check of firing circuit for non-electricity for electric initiation.
• Sound warning signals as per regular practice (3 sirens of 1 minute each before the
blasting)
• In case of partial misfire/ detonation, carryout visual check for detonating cord.
• If stemming is easily removed, remove the stemming by special tool/ water/ compressed
air.
• Fire
• If the stemming is impossible to remove, drill small dia hole at least 1m from misfire.
• Charge lightly
• If fuse lies down hole, identify leads of misfired detonator and attach them to something
that can be traced.
• Drill relieving hole not less than 1.5m from misfire and parallel to them.
• Charge lightly.
• Recheck circuits.
i) SME loaded truck after reaching near the truck yard before entry to the
site its vehicle worthiness should be checked by trained security traffic
marshal as per standard,
ii) In checking vehicle fitness check the license of driver its validity as well
as fitness certificate registration etc.,
iii) After getting satisfactory remarks from traffic marshal vehicle to be enter
for weigh met,

iv) After weigh met SME truck will go to the charging face and spotting near
the charging site,
v) Hole measurement done by competent person and as per blaster/blasting
in-charge instruction hole will charge the stipulated quantity so that proper
charging and stemming length will maintain. All charging record to be
noted in a record sheet and will be submitted to blasting in-charge
vi) Before charging to hole blaster will ensure the mixing properties like
density, temperature and gassing properties,
vii) For ensure the gassing and density of the slurry frequent checking to be
done by taking sample in a bicker and weight it in weighing machine and
by observing the gassing effect with respect to time,
viii) After ensure that gassing of explosive done hole will stemmed by
stemming material,
ix) During all the above activity ensure that all people involve in the activity
wearing safety gloves and safety goggle.
x) During stemming activity it to be ensure that DTH should not be dropped
inside the hole as well as prevent for damage,
xi) After all activity done blaster should ensure that all hole was charged and
stemmed properly , after ensuring all the activity safe removal of SME
truck to the weigh bridge for re weigh met.
xii) During charging all the safety precaution required in blasting operation
should be applied to SME charging including the above point.
xiii) The pump truck carrying the premix/constituents shall be approved by the
CCE and shall be safe operation condition and shall be driven by
competent licensed driver,
xiv) General precaution and rules regarding handling and transportation shall
be observed by the blasting crew,
xv) The area surrounding the truck not less than 10m in all direction shall be
kept free of rubbish, dry grass or other materials of combustible nature.
xvi) No smoking and no open flame shall be allowed within 60m of the pump
truck should be ensured by blaster.
• Do not allow any person to enter in the blasting area till the fumes of explosive and dust
settle down
• After the blasting operation is over Blasting-in-charge and blasting Foreman shall inspect
the place of blasting and assess the result of blasting and danger if any has occurred.
• After ensuring the result of inspection, Blasting Foreman shall indicate to give all clear
signal and declare the place safe for re-entering by persons.

C. BEFORE LOADING:
Before starting of loading operation please check
i. All hydraulic function are working properly
ii. Any overhang, remove the overhang, if observed, before starting of
loading
iii. The stability of the face
iv. Cleanliness of the face, clean the scattered boulders, if observed
D. DURING LOADING:
i. Avoid loading of oversize boulders
ii. Maintain the slope of the face to avoid rolling of boulders
iii. Avoid any undercuts/overhangs
iv. Always start loading from the top of the muck to avoid undercut
v. Always look out for any abnormal face movement to avoid slope
failure
vi. Watch out the ground stability at waterlogged faces, remove the
Excavator, if observed any abnormal movement of the face
vii. Do not overload the dumpers. Maintain centralized loading to avoid
any spillage on the haul road
viii. Don’t load the boulder on the top of the dumper. It may roll down
during the running of dumper
ix. After appropriate loading give signal to the dumper operator to leave
the loading place
x. Maintain 30M distance between two loading point
xi. Avoid loading below the face where drilling operation is in progress
E. AFTER LOADING:
1. Clean any spillages, small stone and boulders within the radius of
Excavator
2. Remove any overhang/undercut
3. Take out the Excavator at least 20M away from the face
4. Park the Excavator on firm and level ground.
5. Ensure to engage hydraulic lock before getting down the excavator.
6. Switch off all the electrical switches
7. Properly lock the door
8. Report any observations/damages to the shift/maintenance Ic, if
any
1. Purpose: The purpose of this SOP is to identify the precautions and general
safety rules that should be followed when Dumper Operation at the facility.
2. Scope: This procedure applies to all persons associated with ECL and its
activities (employees, contractors, students, clients, volunteers, visitors and
associated organizations).
4. Accountability: HOD
A. PRE-START CHECKS:
iii. Any visible damages, if observed, report to the shift Ic/maintenance Ic.
iv. Diesel
After completion of per-start checks and satisfied with all the observations,
i. Get in the cabin, lock the door properly, and fasten the seat belt.
ii. Blow the horn twice so that any person nearby can get out of the
vicinity of the dumper
iii. Check all the dash board lights and signal are properly working and all
the indicators are in green.
v. Don’t forget to release the parking break before engaging the gears.
iii. Engage the retarder breaks during rainy season or when road is
slippery
iv. Blow the horn near the turns and do not take sharp turns
vii. Follow the signals of traffic marshal at public road crossing and blow
the horn before crossing the public road.
viii. Give the indicator before taking turn (at least 50M before).
ix. Don’t stop the dumper/vehicle suddenly in between the haul road
except due to breakdown.
D. DURING LOADING/UNLOADING:
ii. Wait for your turn of loading/unloading. Don’t blow horns un-
necessarily.
iii. After getting the signal from excavator operator, move your dumper to
the loading point.
iv. Don’t take out the dumper from loading point unless excavator
operator gives the signal to do so.
vi. At unloading point watch out for the RED signal at hopper. Don’t
unload the dumper if RED signal is ON.
ix. While unloading at waste dump or stock, keep proper distance from
the edge of the stock.

J. DURING SHIFTING/TRAVELLING:
i. Always maintain constant speed while travelling
ii. Do not over-speed/overtake
iii. Always give road to other heavy machineries like dumpers, trucks,
motor grader, diesel tanker and light vehicles like jeeps

iv. Always follow the designated roads. Don’t use shortcuts.
v. Always travel in forward direction while travelling/shifting.
vi. Don’t travel in the water logged benches without prior
permission/authorization from shift Ic or other officials and proper

vii. During shifting inside plant premises ensure no crossing of power line,
pipeline railways barrier etc.
K. IN CASE OF BREAKDOWN:
i. Position the blade on level ground
ii. Demarks the periphery of 10M by proper and visible means
iii. If breakdown on slope, try to shift in the leveled area, if possible.
Otherwise block the area by proper safety berms.
iv. Report the same to shift/maintenance Ic

e. Both the In-charges, Isolation issuer and Isolation holder, shall be present at the sight
throughout the process.
b. After ensuring that the system is stopped completely, enter one person at a time inside
the hopper by using suitable ladder.
c.Ladder must be suitably design for entering inside the crusher hopper.
e. Inspect the boulder physically and push it manually so that any loose boulder found firm grip.
f. Bind the boulder firmly with the help of sling and D-link and hang the other end of sling in the
crane hook properly
g. Before taking out the boulder form hopper, ensure that there is nobody in the periphery of the
boulder and take out all the persons out of hopper
h. Operate the crane slowly with the co-ordination with permit holder.
i. Lower the boulder slowly at the ground surface after taking out of crusher hopper.
j. If there are more than one boulders stuck inside the hopper, handle them one by one by using the
steps from a to i
C. AFTER PROCESS:
a. Collect all the tools and tackles used for boulder removal and keep them in their respective places.

C. AFTERCHECKS:
i. Take the reading and signature of the driver/operator after filling the diesel.
ii. Ensure to take out the wheel blocks before starting the vehicle.
iii. Do not over speed/accelerate the vehicle in diesel filling area.
iv. Repeat the above process whenever to fill the diesel in other vehicles.
v. Switch off the power of the pump after diesel filling is completed
vi. Ensure proper locking of the pump before leaving the place.
vii. Shut and lock the door of diesel filling area properly.
• In case of exigency, use suitable type(s) of fire extinguishers according

B. DURING SPRINKLING:
i. Always operate the water tanker in specified speed limit i.e. 20 KM/Hr
iii. Don’t stop the tanker in between the road in any case.
v. For any reasons, if tanker required stopping on haul road, immediately shut off the
sprinkler.
vi. Don’t go near the swing area of the Excavator while excavator is in operation.
vii. For water sprinkling at loading point, ask the excavator operator to take out excavator
from the face. Start the sprinkling after taking out the excavator at safe distance (Min 10M)
Vi. Ensure that the water filling point is level and free of vegetation.
D. PARKING:
iii. Don’t park at the places where the visibility for other HEMM gets hampered.
E. GENERAL:
i. If tanker got breakdown during operation, make sure that the road is not blocked.
ii. If the tanker can move, take it to the safer place/plane area/workshop to avoid traffic
congestion.
iii. If the tanker is not possible to move, engage the parking breaks, block the wheels by
wheel chocks and communicate to the shift Ic/maintenance Ic.
iv. If tanker is not repairable for a longer duration, block the 10 M periphery of the tanker by
proper safety berm and reflector cones to know the position from long distance and during
night hours.
v. Don’t park your tanker or take shelter in the vicinity of breakdown tanker.
G. RIGHT OF WAY:

After completion of per-start checks and satisfied with all the observations,

iii. Use the rear view mirror/camera provided in the vehicle/dumper while reversing
the vehicle/dumper for unloading.
iv. Don’t reverse up to the edge of the dump. A safety berm of sufficient height at
least 3 meters away from the edge shall be prepared to avoid revering of
vehicles/dumpers till the edge.
viii. Sufficient area for reversing the vehicle/dumpers shall be prepared at the
dumping site.
x. Use rear view mirror/camera during reversing; also follow the instructions given by
spotter.
xii. Ensure the vehicle/dumper unloaded fully before leaving the dumping area.
xiii. Don’t disengage parking brakes till the vehicle/dumper gets unloaded fully.
xiv. Blow the horn while leaving the dumping area and take the dumper out of
dumping area for next trip.

ii. Block all wheels of the trailer by wheel chocks to avoid running of trailer while unloading
the components.
vii. Insert the sillings at the hooks of the components and lock the D-Shackle properly to
avoid slipping of D-shackle.
ix. Ensure that there is no person below the lifted component and swing radius of crane.
xi. Follow steps v to x to unload all other components from the trailer.
Commissioning of Excavator
iii. Sillings and D-shackles shall be free of oil, grease, clay, etc to avoid slippage
iv. Only authorized persons are allowed inside the barricaded area.
v. Handle the oil and lubricants carefully to avoid slippage and contamination.
vi. No person is allowed beneath the lifted components for any reason.
viii. Remove the barricades, tools, unused oil, lubricants after the commissioning and clean
the area.
ix. Follow operator’s manual for the torque to be given while tightening the components

ii. Ensure that all the control levers are locked and secured.
iii. Take out the key from the switch and keep it with the competent person or
supervisor supervising the job.
vii. Keep the sign board “UNDER REPAIR” at convenient place, visible to all.
ii. Don’t use worn out hoses, nut, and bolts to repair any excavator
iv. While working under turret, ensure no one is working above the turret.
vi. Make sure the machine is cooled enough before replacing any hydraulic
hose.
vii. Don’t work when machine is hot. Give sufficient time to cool it off.
viii. Avoid spillage of oil, grease etc on the floor or any other components of
the excavator.
xii. While using any hydraulic jacks, always give secondary support of wooden
or steel blocks.
xiv. Never put finger between the track shoe when track is open for repairing.
xv. Don’t let any nut, bolt, tool to fall in open housings. Be careful not to leave
any tools in the housings.
xvi. Do not hit the ends of the track pins with a sledge hammer to loosen the
track joints.

viii. While using hydraulic jack support, ensure that secondary support also placed

i. Ensure that all the components are lowered and locked. If in any case the
dump body is required to be raised condition, lock it properly with the locking
arrangement. Use secondary support for proper protection.

iii. Take out the key from the switch and keep it with the competent person or
supervisor supervising the job.
vii. Keep the sign board “UNDER REPAIR” at convenient place, visible to all.
viii. Block all the wheels with wheel chocks to avoid run-away.
ii. Don’t use worn out hoses, nut, and bolts to repair any dumper
iv. Take precautions while refilling or replacing the oil and oil filters.
v. Make sure the machine is cooled enough before replacing any hydraulic/

i. Make sure all the persons engaged for repairing work are using mandatory as well as
work specific PPEs
iv. Display the “UNDER REPAIR” sign board so as to visible to everyone in the vicinity
of the area.
vii. Take out the key from the switch and keep it at secured place or hand over to
supervisor.
viii. Make sure all components are cooled off up to ambient temperature before starting
any repairing work.
ix. Use laser gun to measure the temperature of radiator to ensure that water
temperature is below 450C before opening the radiator cap.
ii. While working on crawler mounting, make sure that the main inlet hose is
disconnected from main air valve.
iii. Make sure the mounting jacks are lowered firmly on the ground.
v. Drain air from the chamber before working on compressor and make sure main valve
is shut off.
vi. Never carry out repairing over drilling area except in case of breakdown where
machine cannot be shift to other location. In that case plug the drill holes properly and
carry out the repairing.
vii. While replacing the drill hammer or drill bit, make sure mast is in lowered condition.
viii. Never get under a drill mast while check up of failure of drill hammer or drill bit.

iii. Barricade the area to avoid any unauthorized entry.
i. Always use specific safety gloves, wear cloths free of oil and grease.
ii. Don’t roll up the sleeves and collar and don’t turn up trousers.
iii. Block all the gaps in the wall and floor with non combustible material to restrict welding or
gas cutting sparks to pass through.
iv. Never weld or perform any gas cutting operation near fuel oil system.
v. When welding the oil or diesel tanks, the tank must be completely purged by cleaning with
water jet before carrying out gas cutting or welding work.
vii. Remove the paint before welding or cutting as hazardous fumes may be emitted when
paint is heated.
viii. Disconnect the battery terminals and alternator cables before welding on any machine.
xiii. Use the electrodes in such a way that a length of 38mm-50mm from the holder is left.
xiv. Don’t throw away the pieces of electrode. Keep them in receptacle.
xvi. Switch off the machine after finishing the welding work.
xvii. Remove the welding electrode from the cable and keep in the designated place.
i. Gas cylinders and blow pipes shall be clean and in good condition. Don’t apply grease or
oil on any attachments, regulator or blowpipes.

ii. Don’t make fire, smoke near gas cylinders.
iv. Don’t lift or unload any cylinder by holding with valve, fittings or by tying with rope or wire.
vii. Empty and filled cylinders shall be kept separately at their designated places.
viii. Do not keep pressure more than 9 PSI when using acetylene cylinder.
Ix. Use trolley for shifting the gas cylinders from one place to another. Do not roll the gas
cylinders on ground.
x. The regulator and other attachments shall be disconnected when gas cylinders area
transported from one place to another and cylinder caps shall be closed.
xi. Don’t carry out the cutting or welding job near the gas cylinders, adequate distance shall
be made.
xii. Only approved types of lighters shall be used for lighting the flame
xv. Always keep the keys of cylinder valves attached on the cylinders.
xvi. Inspect the hose regularly. Don’t use the hose with cuts, leaks, cracks etc.
xvii. Use only approved type of hose which can withstand the gas pressure.
xx. The gas blowpipes for cutting should have in -built no return valve.
ii. Collect the left out electrode pieces and keep them at the specific place.
iii. Collect the unused electrode and store them properly for further use.
vi. Keep the welding machine and welding cable at the designated place after finishing the
welding.

b. Always keep suitable types of fire extinguishers inside the oil/grease room and in the
vehicle used for transportation of oil/grease.
e. Always keep sufficient space between two rows of oil/grease barrels for easy
movement.
g. Always keep surrounding of oil/grease room free of vegetation when they are stored
in open yard.
i. Avoid use of galvanized iron containers, bucket or open canisters for transportation of
oil/grease. Always use clean containers with tight fitting lids.
j. Use metallic pedals instead of hand or wooden stick for removing grease from barrels.
k. Keep separate pumps for taking out different grades and make of lubricants from
barrels.
n. Before checking oil level, clean the periphery of filling pipe to avoid entry of dust and
other foreign particles.
p. While changing the oil in machine, make sure area is clean, free of dust and level.
r. After greasing over, always wipe off the grease that was forced out.
s. Immediately remove any spilled oil or greaseon the floor of the operator’s cabin,
steering and handrail.

ROUTINE CHECKS
a. Check the tyre inflation daily with accurate and calibrated pressure gauge.
f. Rim shall be cleaned once in a week to prevent rusting due to water, mud etc.

STORAGE OF TYRES:

a. During carry out any repair or maintenance job always wear the mandatory and job
specific PPEs.
b. Before taking any vehicle/machine inside the repair bay, ensure that the rear view is
clear; blow the horn to ensure that the persons in the vicinity shall be out of danger zone
of the machine/vehicle.
c. Don’t carry out any repair/maintenance job in confined spaces. Ensure proper
ventilation before starting any job.
d. Always work carefully. Take care of yourself and your co-worker during the
repair/maintenance.
f. Always barricade the periphery (30M in case of excavator and 15M in case of others)
of the machine/vehicle to restrict the unauthorized entry.
i. Make sure the vehicle/machine is on level ground and key is removed from the key
switch before carry out any repair/maintenance job. Also ensure wheels are properly
blocked.
j. Carry out the check list before starting any repairing/maintenance job. Carry out the
repair/maintenance work as per the check list.
l. Thoroughly wash the machine, clean the filler caps, grease fittings/nipples and area
around the dipstick. Make sure water does not enter the electrical system of the
machine/vehicle.
n. Always isolate the system and release the pressure before working on pressurized
components.
t. Use the cardboard to check the leakages, don’t check with bare hands.
v. Always use secondary support with the hydraulic support when working below the
raised component of the vehicle/machine. Fasten the raise canopies properly.
w. If working in water or mud, ensue the nuts, bolts are kept properly. Various plugs,
valves are plugged properly.
a. Take the trial and after fully satisfied with the working of the machine, hand over for
operation.
b. Fixed all the canopies, openings and all other components that opened during
repair/maintenance.
c. clean the excessive grease, oil, lube from the machine parts.

C. BEFORE LOADING:
Before starting of loading operation please check
i. All hydraulic function are working properly
ii. Any overhang, remove the overhang, if observed, before starting of
loading
iii. The stability of the face
iv. Cleanliness of the face, clean the scattered boulders, if observed
v. Any oversize boulders which may restrict the path of
dumpers/Excavator.
vi. Place the machine at least 3M away from the edge of the benches
vii. Give a signal to dumper operator so that he will take the dumper at the
loading point
viii. The distance between dumper and the excavator is maintain properly
for the smooth loading
ix. Prepare the loading platform of suitable height
D. DURING LOADING:
i. Avoid loading of oversize boulders
ii. Maintain the slope of the face to avoid rolling of boulders
iii. Avoid any undercuts/overhangs
iv. Always start loading from the top of the muck to avoid undercut
v. Always look out for any abnormal face movement to avoid slope
failure
vi. Watch out the ground stability at waterlogged faces, remove the
Excavator, if observed any abnormal movement of the face
vii. Do not overload the dumpers. Maintain centralized loading to avoid
any spillage on the haul road
viii. Don’t load the boulder on the top of the dumper. It may roll down
during the running of dumper
ix. After appropriate loading give signal to the dumper operator to leave
the loading place
x. Maintain 30M distance between two loading point
xi. Avoid loading below the face where drilling operation is in progress
xii. Always maintain a berm at the edge of the face
