S/WANGA/LUREKO/2547 ALONG KAKAMEGA-MUMIAS-MAYONI (B12) ROAD
Reference is made to the letter Ref: KeNHA/06.C/RSD4/Vol.13/400361 dated 12 th October,2022
regarding above subject matter.
We visited the site and found out that the works were not done as per the conditions of approval as shown
in the attached inspection report. In view of this the authority surcharged the deposit performance
guarantee to be used to reinstate the road to its initial standard.

INSPECTION
INSPECTION -As per the approved design the proponent was to construct a holding
FINDINDS & lane which he/she did not implement.
OBSERVATIONS
- The proponent had not completed the Works within the allowed
time of completion, and the client did not request for an Extension of
Time (EoT) as stipulated in condition number 20 of the approval.
-As per the approved design, the length of the deceleration lane was
to be 50 m long (3.5m wide) and a diverging lane of 40m, which the
proponent did not implement.
-The Proponent constructed an interceptor on the Road Reserve

REMARKS Not Valid for refund


RECOMMENDATIONS The authority to surcharge the refundable deposit amounting to
Ksh.115,000.00 to be used to reinstated the road to its original
condition.
