1.GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS
1. All the participants should bring the following
documents to register for Pegasus 2024.
i. Bonafide certificate, issued and attested by the
Dean or Principal of your Institution with the names
of all the participants from your college.
ii. Original, valid, official college identity card of each
participant. (No exceptions will be made).
iii. Three (3) passport sized photographs for
registration and participation ID.
iv. If there arises any issue in the Bonafide certificate
and ID card, the decision of the Sports committee is
final.
2. A Pegasus 2024 sports Identity card will be issued to
each participant which should be worn/carried by each
participant and will be verified before every match.
3. If a minimum of six (6) teams do not register for any
sport, that sport will be cancelled
4. Fixtures and schedule will be informed in advance
i. In case of any unforeseen circumstances (such as
rain, etc,), the sports committee may consider
changing the format of the tournament for that
sport.
ii. If any participant is taking part in more than one
sport, it is his/her duty to inform the sports
committee or the respective event captains the
previous day to facilitate drawing a schedule which
reduces the chance of a player having to play two
sports at the same time. The responsibility of
informing the sports committee is solely on the
participant and in the event that a participant fails
to provide such information, it may not be possible
to change the schedule of events.
iii. Though every attempt will be made to encourage
participation in the events, if participants fail to
report on time, a walkover will be given to the
opponent.
iv. If a participant is participating both in an individual
and team events, then priority will be given to the
individual event and the team should continue with
another participant from the squad.
5. Each sport has a tight schedule to follow, therefore we
request the participants to
i. Report on the first day to the Pegasus Registration
desk at least 1 hour prior to your first match and to
finish the verification of ID’s and registration.
ii. Report to the respective venue at least 20 minutes
prior to the scheduled time of match.
iii. Be prepared to start the match within 10 minutes of
the scheduled time. If there is any undue delay
beyond the scheduled time, it may result in a
walkover to the opponent. (For specifics for
individual sports, please check their respective
sections in this document.)
6. Transportation for the participants will be provided for
all sporting venues outside CMC Vellore, Bagayam
Campus. Please contact the event captain for any
queries or assistance related to the same.
7. If there is a change in venue or timings for any
unforeseen reason, the information will be notified to
your team captain at the earliest.
8. Medical Pool - MBBS, BDS, AHS, Ayush, Siddha, Unani
(UG, PG and interns). For details regarding Medical
pool staff, refer to the respective sports.
9. Open Pool - Any College Student (UG, PG), with
bonafide.
10. The staff in-charge/physical director or captain of the
team shall be the only person permitted to
communicate with the sports committee. The Pegasus
2024 sports committee will not be responsible for any
problem arising due to interference by any person
other than the captain of the team/physical director/
staff in-charge of the college
11. On day one, each team is expected to register all the
players who are participating in the sport. This
includes all players who may join the team later.
After the registration of the team no player will be
allowed to join the team.
12. All teams must wear a distinct uniform for their
respective team sports.
13. If there is a complaint of unsportsman like behaviour
or bad conduct (including physical altercation, drunk
or disorderly conduct, eve-teasing, etc), by any
member of the team, the entire team can be
disqualified. The decision regarding such a dispute
will be taken by the Pegasus 2024, Sports committee,
and will be final.
14. In case of any dispute, participants may be required
to submit necessary documents for clarification

Rules:
1. Registration for the events will be held on the spot
between 7 am and 9am. After closure of registration, no
further entries will be entertained.
2. The participants are expected to be present for their

event on time and failure to do so may lead to forfeiting
the event.
3. In case of any dispute, the decision of the referee and

the Pegasus 2024 sports committee will be final

Rules:
1. Format: This is a team event and will be held in a
knock-out format. Each team will have to win two out
of three matches (ie. Singles, Doubles and Reverse
Singles) to win the fixture.
2. Till quarter-finals, each match in a fixture will be
conducted as a single set of 30 points. The first team to
get 30 points will be considered as the winner.
3. The semi-finals and the finals will be conducted as the
best of 3 sets of 21 points each. If the score in a match
is 20-20, then the first team to gain a 2 point difference
wins. If both teams are on the score 29-29, the first
team to score 30 points wins.
4. A player can play a maximum of 2 matches (i.e Singles
and Doubles) in a fixture
5. Participant eligibility:
I. Medical Pool - Refer to Section 1.8 above
II. Open Pool - Refer to Section 1.9 above
6. A team can have a minimum of 2 players and a
maximum of 4 players
7. A college can have a maximum of 3 teams.
8. For the Medical pool, all matches will be conducted
using nylon shuttles (Yonex Mavis 350), for the open
pool all matches will be conducted using feather
shuttles.
9. All players should use only non-marking shoes that are
meant for an indoor badminton wooden surface.
10. Participants who have registered for the medical pool
can also register for the open pool.
11. Participants are expected to be present at the venue
at least 15 minutes before the scheduled time for the
match. If the team is not present at the venue, after 30
minutes, a walkover will be given to the opponent.
12. Standard BWF rules will be followed.
13. In case of any conflict, the decision of the Referee,
Pegasus 2024 Sports committee will be final

4. BASKETBALL

Rules:
1. Format: The tournament will be conducted in a
league format.
2. A maximum of 12 players will be allowed per team.
3. Each match will be conducted with 4 quarters, of 10
minutes each.

I. Medical pool - Refer to section 1.8 + 1 Medical
pool staff
5. Standard FIBA rules will be followed.
6. If the team is not present at the venue within 30
minutes of the scheduled time for a match, a
walkover will be given to the opponents.

and doubles) in a fixture.
8. Each match ideally will have either 8 boards or 29
points as the decider (Note: It may be changed in
relevance with the time limit or the number of
registrations received).
9. Players can bring their own strikers.
10. Standard AICF rules shall be followed.
11. In case of any dispute, The Pegasus 2024 Sports
committee’s decision shall be final

7. CRICKET

9. CHESS RAPID

maximum of 3 players (2+1 substitute) for Board 1

4. The players cannot change their board numbers. The
substitute player can only enter at board 2.
5. Each player will be allotted 20 minutes + 0 seconds
increment.
6. Illegal moves should be notified to the arbiter.
7. A second illegal move will lead to forfeiting the
match.
8. Use of cell phones or other electronic devices is
prohibited during the game.
9. No form of communication between teammates is
allowed during the game.
10. There is no restriction on the number of teams
participating from a college
11. In cases of a tie breaker, the following order will be
followed
I. Head-to-head
II. Number of wins
III. Tie breaker match
12. All standard FIDE rules apply and the players are
expected to bring their own chess boards and clocks.
13. In case of any conflict, the decision of the arbiter and
the Pegasus 2024 Sports committee will be final.

1. Format: The men’s tournament will be conducted in a
knockout format. The format of the women’s
tournament will depend on the number of teams
registered.

1. Format: The tournament will be played in the format
of a League, followed by Knock-out.

registrations in the 11-a-side Hockey event, the
medical pool will be converted to an Open pool.
10. Standard FIH rules will be followed.

Rules:
1. Format: The format will be league matches, followed
by knockout.
2. The maximum number of players allowed to
participate are: 5+3 substitutes (4 players, 1 goalie).
3. Only students are allowed to participate.
4. Participant eligibility: Open Pool - Refer to Section 1.9
above + 1 Medical pool staff
5. A maximum of two teams are allowed from a college.
6. Each game consists of two halves of 10 minutes
each, with a 2 minutes break in the middle.
7. Standard FIH rules will be followed.
8. If two teams have the same points at the end of the
group stage, then, the team that will progress to the
knockout stage will be decided on the basis of Goal
difference. If that does not resolve the tie then,
Goals conceded will be considered before looking at
the outcome of the head to head match.
9. Draw in knockout matches will be resolved with a
penalty shoot-out (stroke).

5. If there is a tie at 5 games each, then the first team

6. If there is a tie at 6 games each, a tie-breaker will be
played.

Rules:
1. The format consists of League matches, followed by
Knockout (Subject to number of teams registering).
2. Each team can have a maximum of 12 (6+6) players.

4. Each match will have 3 sets of 25 points each.
5. All standard FIVB rules apply.
6. Each college can have a maximum of two teams. A
player can play for only one team. If a player plays

7. Match Ball will not be given for warm-up.

a team is not present at the venue by 15 minutes after
the scheduled time, a walkover will be given to the
opponent team.
