ASSOCIATION
As we begin a new week, it’s important to
understand that in the hustle and bustle of the
MENTAL HEALTH virtual teaching life, coupled with either
parenting or maintaining our different
relationships…, feeling overwhelmed is a
common experience. As a Counselor, I
understand the importance of addressing these
moments with care. Here are a few strategies to
regain balance:

Pause and Breathe: Take a moment to step

back, inhale deeply, and exhale slowly.
Grounding yourself in the present helps
manage stress.
Prioritize Tasks: Break down tasks into
manageable steps and focus on one thing at a
time. Tackling smaller goals can make the
workload more digestible.
Seek Support: Don’t hesitate to reach out to
colleagues, friends, a mentor, or the counselor.
Sharing your feelings can provide valuable
perspectives and support.
Self-Compassion: Be kind to yourself.
Understand that it’s okay to feel overwhelmed.
Practice self-compassion and avoid harsh self-
criticism.
Time Management: Evaluate your teaching
schedule and delegate tasks at home when/if
possible. Effective time management can
alleviate pressure and create a sense of control.

Always remember, seeking professional guidance

is always an option. Prioritize your mental well-
being – it’s the foundation of a successful and
fulfilling professional journey.

Quote of the day: “In the middle of winter I

at last discovered that there was in me an
invincible summer.” – Albert Camus
Online Screening is one of the quickest and easiest ways to determine whether you are
experiencing symptoms of a mental health condition.

❖ How do I know if I need a mental disorder test or mental health screening?

- Consider taking a test to assess your mental health if you’ve noticed changes in how you feel
or in your ability to function for the last two weeks or more. If you’ve found yourself feeling
extra tired, unfocused, or sad lately, and these symptoms are interfering with your ability to
engage in your day-to-day life, these could be signs that you could benefit from mental health
treatment.
❖ How accurate is a psychological test online?
- Online mental health tests, provide a snapshot of the severity of your symptoms at that
particular point in time. For more information on the current state of your mental health,
consider working with a licensed mental health professional. A therapist or psychologist can
gather additional mental health assessment information and test your symptoms at regular
intervals to determine a diagnosis and get a more accurate picture of your mental health.
