I.Cách dùng

1. Diễn tả một thói quen, hành động lặp đi lặp lại ở hiện tại
Vd:
- He never goes to the cinema: Anh ấy chưa bao giờ đi xem phim
- I usually study every afternoon: Tôi thường học vào buổi tối
- He usually go to school every morning: Anh ấy thường đến trường vào mỗi buổi sáng

2. Diễn tả thực tế, chân lý, sự thật hiển nhiên

Vd:
- The Earth goes around the Sun: trái đất thì quay xung quanh mặt trời
- A week has seven days: một tuần có 7 ngày
- My mother is a farmer: mẹ tôi là một người nông dân

3. Diễn tả lịch trình, giờ tàu xe, thời khóa biểu

Vd:
- The train leaves at 7.45 p.m this evening: Chuyến tàu dời đi lúc 7h45 chiều nay
- I study Math every Monday morning: Tôi học môn Toán mỗi sáng thứ 2

II. Cấu trúc

1. Động từ tobe (am, is, are)

I : Tôi
Vd:
- I am a student: Tôi là một học sinh

He: anh ấy
She: cô ấy
It: Nó

Vd:
- She is a student: Cô ấy là một học sinh
- It is a cat: Nó là một con mèo
 You: Bạn/ Các bạn
We: Chúng tôi
They: Họ

Vd: They are students

Vd:
I am not a student : Tôi không phải là học sinh
He is not a worker: Anh ấy ko phải là công nhân
They are not students: Họ không phải là những học sinh
We are not workers : Chúng tôi ko phải là những người công nhân

I am a student

- No, I am not
She is a nurse
-> Is she a nurse
+ Yes, she is
- No, she is not
Why : tại sao
When: khi nào
Where: Ở đâu
Who: Ai đó
What: Cái gì
Which: Cái mà
How: như thế nào

Ex:
How are you today ?
Cô ấy là ai ? -> Who is she ? -> She is my friend
Anh ấy là ai ? -> Who is he ? -> He is my friend / He is my father
2. Động từ thường

Vd: I go to school every morning.

We go to school by bike.
He always drives to work

Vd:
I do not go to school on weekend: Tôi không đi học vào cuối tuần
He does not go to school on weekend: Anh ấy không đi học vào cuối tuần
 Ex: Do you go to school on weekend ? -> No, I do not
Does he work on weekend ? -> Yes, he does
Do they work on weekend ? -> No, they do not

Vd:
Where do they work ?
When do you go to bed ? -> I go to bed at 10 pm

III. Dấu hiệu nhận biết

1. Trạng từ chỉ tần suất

always, constantly : luôn luôn

usually, frequently : thường xuyên

Vd: I usually get up at 6 AM every morning: Tôi thường xuyên thức dậy vào 6 giờ sáng

often, occasionally: thường

Vd: He often plays soccer in the weekend: Anh ấy thường chơi bóng đá vào cuối tuần

sometimes: đôi khi

Vd: She sometimes cook in the weekend: Cô ấy đôi khi nấu ăn vào cuối tuần

seldom, rarely: hiếm khi

Vd: They seldom read book: Họ hiếm khi đọc sách

2. Every + khoảng thời gian

Vd: every day : mỗi ngày
every week: mỗi tuần
every month: mỗi tháng
3. Once/ twice/ three times/ four times + khoảng thời gian

Vd:
 once a week: một tuần 1 lần

twice a week: một tuần 2 lần

IV. Quy tắc chia động từ V_ s/es

1. Động từ kết thúc bằng “o”, “ch”, “sh”, “x”, “s” -> thì thêm đuôi “es”
2. Động từ kết thúc bằng đuôi y, trước y là phụ âm thì bỏ y thêm đuôi ies
3. Các trường hợp còn lại : thêm đuôi “-s”
