except through me. John 14:6
INTRODUCTION
Life is a journey and when one knows where he/she is going, it makes the journey
easier. If you know the way from Kumasi to Accra, no matter how beautiful the bus
from Kumasi to Sunyani is, you will not board it. A way is a path for walking beings. It
is a medium which we travel upon. There are many ways in this journey of life, but the
accredited way for man to see the father again is through Jesus Christ.
EXPOSITION TO THE GOSPEL
Jesus’ words show that the way to eternal life, though unseen, is secure only if we
believe in him. he has already prepared the way to eternal life. The only issue which
may still be unsettled is your willingness to believe. “I am going to prepare a place for
you” and “I will come again” shows we can look forward to eternal life because Jesus
has promised it to all who believe in him. Although the details to eternity is unknown,
we need not to fear, because Jesus is preparing for us and will spend eternity with us.
The verse 6 in one of the most basic and important passages in scripture. How can we
know the way to God? Only through Jesus. Jesus is the way because he is both God and
man. By uniting our lives with him, we are united with God. Trust Jesus to take you to
the father, and all the benefits of being God’s child will be yours.
Jesus says he is the only way to God the Father. Some people may argue that this way is
too small or narrow. In reality, it is wide enough for the whole world, if the world
chooses to accept it. Instead of worrying about how limited it sounds to have only one
way, we should be saying, “Thank you, God, for providing a sure way to get to you.”

 As the way, Jesus is our path to the Father. We must walk in him, by walking his
teachings.
 As the truth, he is the reality of all Gods promises. Everything God has said
concerning our lives would come to pass through Jesus Christ.
 As the life, he joins his divine life to ours, both now and eternally.
Colossians 1:15 says Christ is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
Jesus is the visible, tangible image of the invisible God. He is the complete revelation of
what God is like. Jesus explains to Philip, who wanted to see the Father, in the verse 9,
that to know Jesus is to know the Father. In summary, the search for God, for truth and
reality, ends in Christ.
Jesus told the disciples that when they walk in his way, they will do great miracles. The
disciples working in the power of the Holy Spirit, would carry the gospel of God’s
Kingdom into the whole world. We are also given the privilege to ask anything in his
name and I shall be ours. We must remember to ask in accordance with his will,
purpose and character. God will not grant request contrary to his nature and will and
we cannot use his name as magic formula to fulfill our selfish desires.
WHAT PREVENTS US FROM THE WAY
a. Satan brings unbelief and doubts in us about the true way. (1Peter 2:7-8)
b. We lose focus when our hearts are troubled (John 14:1)
c. If we do not know where Jesus is going and where he’s taking us, our journey
with him will be materialistic in approach and we will lose the way. (John 14: 5,
8, 9, 10)
WHAT ARE THE REWARD FOR THOSE WHO BELONG TO THE WAY?
1. They will be rejected by men, dragged out of the city and be stoned to death.
Because of Christ, people will not accept you. They will not agree with your way
of life. (Acts 7:57-60, 1Peter 2:4)
2. You become a special enviable people. You now belong to God’s royals and
priesthood. You have now received mercy from God and exhibiting his
marvelous light to the world. (1Peter 2: 9-10)
3. You have inheritance in the Kingdom of God. Christ is going to prepare a place
for us and he will come back and take us there to be with him. (John 2:3, 12:26)
CONCLUSION
We must know where we are going in life. This will help us know the way to pass. The
way (Christ) is leading us to the Fathers house. The way leads us to Heaven. (Acts 7:55).
