 In the river, there lived a crocodile
and its mate. One day, the
crocodiles came to the rose apple
tree. They saw the monkey eating
the juicy rose apple.

 “Hello Mr. Monkey!” said the male
crocodile.
The monkey was startled. It ran up
to the higher branch of the tree.

 “Hai friend!” said the female
crocodile. “We are not going to eat
you. We want to be your friend. Can
you please drop a few rose apples
for us,” she added.

 “Alright!” said the monkey. It
plucked a few rose apples and
dropped them into the water. The
crocodiles ate the fruits. Soon they
became good friends.

 One day, only the male crocodile
came to the tree.
“Where is your wife?” asked the
monkey.
“Oh! She is sick,” said the male
crocodile.

 “Would you come with me to visit
her?” asked the crocodile.
“Yes, sure,” said the monkey.
“Jump onto my back. I’ll bring you
to my home,” said the crocodile.

 On the way to its home the male
crocodile said, “The witch doctor
said, my wife will recover if she can
eat a monkey’s heart.”
The monkey was so frightened
when it heard that.

 “Why don’t you tell me earlier? I
left my heart on the tree,” told the
monkey.
So the crocodile turned and swam
back to the rose apple tree.

 As soon as they reached the tree,
the monkey quickly climbed up the
tree. It was saved from the wicked
crocodile. A true friend never betray
another friend.
