Present simple – Thì hiện tại đơn

Diễn tả một hành động lặp đi lặp lại hay một thói quen ở hiện tại

 Ví dụ: I go to school everyday : tôi đi học mỗi ngày

 She eats breakfast everyday

Nói về một sự thật hiển nhiên

 Ví dụ: The Moon goes around the Earth (Mặt trăng quay quanh Trái
đất)

Cấu trúc

S : chủ ngữ , V : động từ

Đại từ: (I: tôi, you: bạn, we: chúng tôi, they: họ, she: cô ấy, he: anh ấy, it: nó)

Câu khẳng định: S + V(s/es)

Chúng ta thêm s/es vào sau động từ khi chủ ngữ là he, she, it hoặc là chủ ngữ
số ít (ví dụ: an apple, a tree, Phương Linh, my sister)

Khi chủ ngữ là I, you, we, they hoặc là chủ ngữ số nhiều (vd: some books,
Phương Linh and Jane, my friends) thì KHÔNG CHIA ĐỘNG TỪ

VD: Cô ấy thức dậy (wake up) mỗi ngày vào lúc 7h sáng

-> She wakes up everyday at 7 a.m

Họ thức dậy (wake up) mỗi ngày vào lúc 7h sáng

-> They wake up everyday at 7 a.m

Past simple – Thì quá khứ đơn

Dùng để mô tả những sự kiện đã xảy ra và hoàn toàn kết thúc tại thời điểm
trong quá khứ.

Câu khẳng định: S + V(quá khứ)

Câu phủ định: S + did not + V

Câu nghi vấn: Did + S + V

-> Yes, S did

-> No, S did not
