T RENITALIA has applied through its Dutch subsidiary QBuzz
for permission to operate a new high-speed service in the
Netherlands from Amsterdam via Utrecht and Arnhem to the
German border as part of a new service linking Amsterdam, Cologne
and Frankfurt am Main, which would start on January 1 2027.
The Dutch Consumers and Markets Authority (ACM) will
assess whether the new initiative poses a threat to Netherlands
Railways (NS) under its Main Line Network (HRN) concession.
Although international services can be operated on an open
access basis, the new service will carry domestic passengers in the
Netherlands, therefore requiring ACM approval. The trains will operate the new

The final section of the report’s journey through the station of the future
covers the Exit, which it points out is the beginning of another stage in
the passenger’s journey, be it a short walk to their final destination or
connecting with another service or mode that may take them much
further. Providing information on connecting services as well as on
what can be found in the immediate vicinity of the station is therefore
essential, the report says. Signage directing passengers to connecting
or alternative modes should be visible at strategic locations both inside
and outside the station, with real-time departure information
provided for connecting services.
In providing local maps and other depictions of the area, the
station’s surroundings should be visually represented in a way that is
understandable to all, with signs and other wayfinding indicating
local landmarks rather than street or area names that the passenger
might not be familiar with, particularly if they are a first-time or
infrequent visitor to the city in question.

Complete data for your infrastructure

In order to plan and implement construction measures timely and
cost-effectively, you need precise and complete data. This means
complete recording of the track, track bed, substructure, and
environmental parameters. The new EM120VT is a multitalented
measuring vehicle and was designed precisely for this purpose:
to provide a comprehensive data basis. It supplies high-resolution
data of all track components at measuring speeds of up to 120 km/h.
It generates a digital 1:1 image of the line and immediately provides
information about which intervention has to take place in which spots.
