Mother’s Day in the UAE is celebrated on 21 March. Mothers hold a revered and esteemed position in
UAE society for their pivotal role in the family and community. They are considered the backbone of the
family, and their counsel and opinions are highly valued and respected. Although families mark a specific
day every year to celebrate mothers, children in the UAE express their love and gratitude towards their
mothers through acts of kindness and appreciation all year round.

Theme:

 The multi-faceted role of woman in a family.


 The all-embracing power of a woman to hold the family together.

Main points:

 The poem speaks of the importance of woman/ mother in a family.


 Expresses the unconditional love of a mother, celebrates womanhood.
 Without her, the home would be a house colder than the stones and bricks with which it was
constructed.
 The children come to her for love and protection.
 The mother protects her children from the adversities of life.
 At the end of the poem, the woman prays to God to spare her life until her children grow up.
