Course Objectives: The course will help the students to get familiar with the major functions of
Adobe Photoshop’s IDE, various Image painting, editing and selection tools, Color Adjustment
techniques, Layers and its different types of operation and various methods for applying special
effects on Text and Image.

Environment -The Working Environment - Using the Tool Panel - Rulers Guides and Grids -
Panel Techniques - Controlling the Workspace.

Open and save files: Opening an images in Photoshop - Saving Files - TIFF Format - Save as
JPEG - Creating A New File - Photo merge - Image and Color Basics: Rotating an Image -
Resizing without Resampling - Cropping an image - Adding a Border - Fore ground and
Background Colors - The Color panel.

The Painting Tools: The Brush panel - The Pencil Tool - The Gradient Tool - Creating
Rasterized Shapes - The Editing Tools: Blur, Sharpen and Smudge - The Clone Stamp Tool -
Magic Eraser - The Healing Brush Tool - Selection Tools: Marquee Selection Tools - The Lasso

Working with Layers: Working with Layers - Merge and Flatten Layers - Moving Layers
between Images - Selecting and Linking Layers - Locking Layers - Layer Groups - Working
with Color Adjustment: Brightness / Contrast - Color Balance - Black & White Command.

Working with Text - Text creation - Effects to text - Wrapping Text - Adding image to text -
Filters: The Filter Gallery - Applying and Arranging filter effects - Brush stroke filters - Render
filter - Disort Filters.
