History of FUTSAL
Five-a-side soccer

Game is being played on a basketball-sized courts
Both indoors and out without the use of sidewalls
1965 1st international competition
Paraguay won the 1st South American Cup
1979 the Brazil winning all the game including the 1st Pan American Cup
1981 U.S. Futsal was founded and incorporated in January 1983
The game has many names: Mini soccer,five-a-side soccer, Futbol Sala or
Futebol de Salao.
Current futsal president is Alex JC Para
1st Futsal World Championship conducted under the auspices of FIFUSA
TEAM COMPOSITION
Keeper
-very important position
- This is often the friend who can’t run or is injured but can still help the team.
FIXO (FIXED DEFENDER)
-Most often the captain and/or the team manager of the side
-one who puts in the most effort both on and off the court.
ALA (LEFT & RIGHT WINGER)
-Two wingers, one on the left and one on the right.
-workhorses in the team.
-the role of winger with the idea of helping attack and also getting back to help
defend.
PIVOT (TARGET)
-goal scorer, the one who holds up play
-The star who attacks more than defends.
