Australia Awards in Indonesia invites applications for the Sustainable Finance in

Indonesia: Transforming Challenges into Opportunities short course. The short course
explores the untapped opportunities of Indonesia’s sustainable finance agenda,
including the role and use of green taxonomy and disclosure standards. The course
aims to strengthen the partnership between Indonesian and Australian agencies by
sharing case studies and good practices on the institutional architecture of
sustainable finance.

The course will help participants to:


Australia Awards Short Course
• explore the opportunities of Indonesia’s sustainable finance agenda, including
Sustainable Finance in Indonesia: green taxonomy and disclosure standards
Transforming Challenges into Opportunities • share experiences and best practices on policies, programs and initiatives to
strengthen sustainable finance (including current and planned policies in
Indonesia, Australia and elsewhere relevant)
• improve understanding of the strong role of the private sector in having to
adopt the relevant standards and policies
• explore Indonesia’s comparative advantage for attracting investments
compared to other Southeast Asian countries
• develop action plans to identify sustainable finance sources and/or improve
existing activities and arrangements to help achieve national targets
• identify lessons learned and best practices in inter-agency collaboration and
coordination
• build networks with Australian institutions (public and private) and experts for
partnerships and future collaboration between Indonesian and Australian
agencies by sharing case studies and good practice on the institutional
architecture of sustainable finance

The course applies a range of learning methodologies: classroom sessions, case


studies, site visits, discussion and planning sessions, role plays and networking events.
Additionally, the course participants will develop and implement an Award Project.

The 2-week course will be delivered in Australia in October 2024 (dates TBC). A
three-day pre-course workshop will be held in Indonesia in September 2024, and a
post-course workshop will be held in Indonesia in February 2025.

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree (S1) qualification and at least 3 years of relevant experience
• Professional working proficiency in English
• Application is endorsed by the supervisor
• Commitment to prepare and implement an Award Project
• Commitment to engage actively and foster networks with multiple stakeholders, including
in Australia
• Commitment to disseminate learning from the course with colleagues and peers

Applicants who currently hold a scholarship funded by the Australian Government are not
eligible to apply for the short course.
This is a fully funded short course. Course fees, travel, accommodation and per diems will
be provided by Australia Awards in Indonesia.

Women from disadvantaged backgrounds and people with disability are strongly encouraged
to apply.
An information session will be held virtually by Australia Awards in Indonesia on 10 May
2024 at 10.00 WIB. This session guides applicants through the application process,
including the online application system, participant selection and interview. Registration for
