4.4. Certificate of Quality and Quantity:
4.4.1. Theoretical Basis:
4.4.1.1. Definition:
- Certificates of Quantity and Quality (C/Q) means the certificates of
quantity and quality evidence confirming the quality of the actual
delivery and demonstrating product quality in accordance with the terms
of the contract. This document also certifies that the goods have quality
consistent with the manufacturer's standards or international standards.
- Organizing agencies have the right to issue C/Q documents
- Quality certificates can be issued by the supplier or by the agency
- Testing of exported goods, depending on the agreement of both buyers
and sellers.
- Quantity certificate is a document confirming the quantity/weight of the
product's actual goods delivered. Quantity/weight certificates can also
be provided by the supplier or organize testing of imported and exported
goods, depending on the agreement in the contract.
4.4.1.2. Features & Content:
- Document name: Certificate of Quantity - Quality and Weight
- Document number and date: This document date is usually before the
delivery date.
- Usually before or on the day of the Packing List.
- Contents about Seller, Buyer, Notify party, departure port, arrival port,
ship name, trip number...
- The first part of this document must be prepared the same as Invoice,
P/L, B/L and other documents. Therefore, the person requesting the
inspection must pay attention to providing accurate information to the
inspection party and must carefully check the draft information before
confirming the original.
- The most important thing is the inspection conclusion that the
shipment complies with export standards and meets the requirements
as specified in the contract.
