Module 2:
Parts of the Bobbin Winder
In the world of hablon, the bobbin winder plays a crucial role in the creation of intricate
woven textiles. Hablon, a traditional handwoven fabric in the Philippines specifically in CTU
Argao Campus and it requires meticulous attention to detail and precision during the weaving
process. Understanding the significance of the bobbin winder in hablon production is essential
for preserving this rich craft and maintaining the quality of the finished products.

The bobbin winder in hablon serves as a tool for winding thread onto bobbins, which are
then used in the loom for weaving. It allows weavers to efficiently prepare the necessary
materials and ensures a continuous supply of thread during the weaving process. With the
proper utilization of the bobbin winder, weavers can maintain consistent tension and even
distribution of thread, resulting in a uniform and finely crafted hablon fabric.

The knowledge of the bobbin winder's function and the ability to identify its parts are
essential for hablon weavers. It enables them to troubleshoot any issues that may arise, make
necessary adjustments, and maintain the machine properly. By understanding the intricacies of
the bobbin winder, hablon weavers can uphold the traditional techniques and quality standards
of hablon production, contributing to the preservation of this cultural heritage and sustaining the
livelihoods of the community of weavers.

INTENDED LEARNING OUTCOMES (ILO):

At the end of the lesson the students with 80% of accuracy should have:

 Identified the parts of the bobbin winder;

 Explained the purpose and function of the various parts of the bobbin winder; and
 Discussed the significance of awareness on the parts of the bobbin winder
machine

PRESANTATION .:
PARTS OF BOBBIN WINDER

Galingan(BobbinWinder):

Galingan, also known as a bobbin winder, is a mechanical device designed to wind

thread or yarn onto bobbins. It is commonly used in textile industries, sewing machines, and
other applications where bobbins are used.

They are available in various sizes and designs, ranging from small handheld devices to larger,
more sophisticated machines. Some galingans are manual, requiring the user to turn a hand
crank or operate a foot pedal to wind the thread, while others are motorized for faster and more
convenient operation.

Galingans play a crucial role in textile and sewing industries by ensuring the efficient and
accurate winding of thread onto bobbins, making them an essential tool for thread management
and subsequent sewing or weaving processes.

Description and Function of each Parts of the Bobbin Winder

Kalinyasan (Bobbin)[Bob-in]

Kini ginama gikan sa bamboo, mao

kini ang ibutang sa huluwalan ug ang
budburan sa hilo. It is made of bamboo
that is used in winding the bobbin with
the thread used as the weft of the
