PARTS OF THE SPEECH
• NOUNS: plural nouns, singular nouns, proper nouns, common nouns,
countable nouns (ten tables), uncountable nouns (much, several, a lot of,
some, any… much wáter, little wáter, two cups of wáter, many bottles of
water. 5 bottles of water. 10 liters of water.
• ADJECTIVES: it describes a noun: High, fat, tall, beautiful… possessive
adjectives (my, your, his, her, its, our, your, their) car: a beautiful car, our
car.
• VERBS: BE, PLAY, STUDY, EAT, DRINK, READ, WATCH, TALK, TRAVEL, DANCE,
SING, SWIM… LOOK (mirar), look for (buscar), look after (cuidar), look at
(observar) RUN (correr) RUN OUT OF (quedarse sin: I am running out of
money. They run out of food.
• ARTICLES: A/AN (indefinite articles): un, una. THE (definite article): el, la,
los, las. A CAT, the cat, cats/many cats/ten cats. The cats.
• PRONOUNS: personal pronouns (i, you, he, she, it, we, you, they)
They are happy, object personal pronouns. He likes her… possessive pronouns
(mine, yours, theirs, his, hers)… demonstrative pronouns (that, those, this, these).

• ADVERBS: it describes a verb or an adjective.

• PREPOSITIONS: inside a sentence. I am in my house.


IN: dentro: in the house /in the room. ON: sobre, on the walls. AT: she is at the
hospital. At the Bus station. At the door, at the window.
