Comia, Mark Allen M.

AC2A

a. I think phrase that I like from “It’s a Small World After All” is “It’s a world of laughter,

a world of tears.” This part affects my soul since it admits the two things in human

nature. It recognizes that sentiments are common and shows that regardless of

our origin or language spoken there is always the possibility for us all to feel happy

as well as sad. Here we find an emotional bridge between different people around

the globe thus making this line so beautiful among many others.

b. Certainly, I believe our world is a small place in the end. In an era where technology

is growing rapidly and economies as well as societies have become globalized,

distances between individuals and nations have significantly reduced. Today’s

interconnectedness implies that what takes place at one end of this planet may

send ripples throughout the rest of it. Social media platforms like Facebook or

Twitter, international trips as well as internet connections enable us to easily

communicate with people from various corners around the globe thereby breaking

down barriers which create an impression of worldwide community consciousness.

This shows that even though our earth might seem huge but common humanity

ties are too strong among us making it a small world after all.

c. The song does indeed propose a worldwide perspective by underscoring such

things as solidarity, harmony, and mutual comprehension. This is idealized in the

refrain which repeats “It’s a small world after all.” In this way, the text tries to

convince us that all people are connected. Additionally, it expresses universalism

through its association with Disney theme parks and their “It’s a Small World”
attraction. The classic ride represents international unity by having animatronic

children from different nations sing together in perfect accord as if they were

cooperating friends from diverse backgrounds. All in all, this popular tune acts as

an eternal reminder that we should appreciate our similarities while being

fascinated by various cultures around the globe.
