The film that we recently watched was called “Seven”, it is a 1995 movie directed by David

Fincher and written by Andrew Kevin Walker. It is a crime psychological thriller film that focuses on
solving the series of murders done by a serial killer with the correlation or based on the seven deadly
sins such as lust, pride, gluttony, sloth, greed, envy, and wrath. The movie follows two detectives a
rookie detective named David Mills performed by Brad Pitt, and a seasoned veteran named William
Somerset performed by Morgan Freeman. The performances by Brad Pitt and Morgan Freeman are
exceptional, with both actors bringing their characters to life in a way that feels both real and relatable.
As they continue to pursue the serial killer and solving the crime mysteries, they are pushed to their
limits both professionally and personally, leading to a dramatic and shocking conclusion. This movie has
become a classic in the thriller genre, praised for its intense and chilling atmosphere, complex
characters, and gripping storyline. The writer said that his writing was based on his experiences by
moving to New York in the late 1980s, and during this period, the rising of crimes related to drugs and
addiction was very high.

The film “Seven” left a huge impact to me as an inspiring law enforcer in the future because of
the methods, and techniques that the movie showed on how to handle and investigate a crime. They
put so many efforts on the details of each crime and also their investigation which is very creative for my
own perspective. The methods on how the serial killer kills its victim are very gruesome but also creative
at the same time. It also showed how important the preservation of the crime scene, and why we should
not alter it for the preservation of the evidences. They have showed different kinds of criminal
investigation techniques and different forensic identification methods like the study of fingerprints
identification and analysis, which is also called as Dactyloscopy. I also noticed the creativity of the mind
of the serial killer in the movie, because in order for him to hide himself from the police and detective,
he decided to cut the tip of his fingers so that it won’t leave a trace of his fingerprint in the crime scene.
The film was also very interesting because the serial killer based his murders in to the seven deadly sins
from the bible and surprisingly, all of his victim was possessed the trait of each sins.

After watching the film “Seven” by David Fincher, I therefore conclude that this film is one of the
best crime psychological thriller films of all time. The creativity of the director and writer was very
commendable, and the plot twist at the end was very shocking and unpredictable. The cinematography
was very well-made, giving that dark, gloomy and serious vibes into the audience. And as expected from
the actors and actresses, they performed a very nice job, because they really bring their character to life
and the emotions in their voices, bodies, and faces, feels so real and relatable. And one thing that I really
like about this film is the way the serial killer kills or torments his victims. I found it very creative
because the writer has able to connect it to the seven deadly sins from the bible, and provoking our
professional detectives to solve the case by using different kinds of criminal identification and detection
methods, which are what we are studying as of today as an inspiring law enforcer. I also learned a lot on
how to process crime scene and how to conduct a proper crime investigation, and the use of criminal
identification and detection.
One of my most striking insights about the film "Seven" by David Fincher was it offers the idea
that human beings are capable of doing great evil. The film's serial killer, who is inspired by the seven
deadly sins, commits unspeakable acts of violence that are both shocking and disturbing for some
audiences. Through this portrayal, the film highlights the capacity for people to act in ways that are cruel
and inhumane, and the devastating effects that such actions can have on those around them. My insight
about this film is that the idea of justice is not always served in a fast and easy manner, the conclusion
that we received from this film tells us that the world is not always fair, and that there are some
instances that the people must step up in order to achieve justice and achieve a sense of closure and
resolution. This film makes us raise questions about the nature of morality, and is it really possible to live
an ideal life in a world where sins, crimes, and violence are always present. This film provides insights
about morality, justice, and the possible consequences of our actions, and how far human natures can
goes in order to perform their dark impulses.
