Please read this guide first for correct installation and retain it for future reference.

Enrolling Users

Before You Start
Make sure the following are ready:
• The COSEC NGT FCX is installed at the desired location, connected to the COSEC
Server on a monitoring computer, and is powered on.
• COSEC NGT FCX is added as a door on the COSEC Server, and the NGT Direct Door Enrolling Users from the COSEC NGT FCX Web-page

COSEC NGT FCX supports three types of authentication: • Regular-Out
• Finger print • Pre Break-Out
• Card • Over Time-Out
• Pin • Authenticate with Finger/Card/PIN.

Users can authenticate themselves using the credentials (Finger print/Card/Pin) with which Late-In
they are enrolled. You can activate and deactivate Late-In from either the Admin or the HR menu.
• On the home screen of the device, tap the Menu icon.
To authenticate with the enrolled Finger, • Tap Admin or HR.
• Place the finger on the sensor. • Tap the Password field to invoke the numeric keypad.
• Wait for confirmation. • Enter the Admin/HR Password and tap OK.
• Tap Late-In Start to activate Late-In.
To authenticate with enrolled Card, • Similarly, tap Late-In Stop to deactivate.
• Show the enrolled card.
• Wait for confirmation.

To authenticate with Pin,


• Tap the PIN icon on the home screen.
• Use the numeric keypad to enter the unique Authentication PIN provided to you.
• Tap OK.
• Wait for confirmation.
Early-Out • To lock the door, tap the Door Lock icon.

Settings LAN Settings
Ÿ Tap the Menu icon on the home screen.
Ÿ Tap Admin. Ÿ To configure Ethernet connection parameters, in Settings, tap LAN.
Ÿ Tap the Password field to invoke the numeric keypad. Configure the following parameters as required.
Ÿ Enter the Admin Password and tap OK. - IP Address
Ÿ Tap Settings. - Subnet Mask
- Gateway Address
Date and Time - Tap OK to save.

Ÿ In Settings, tap Date and Time. Modem Settings


Ÿ Set the Date and Time to the desired values.
Ÿ Tap OK to save. Ÿ To configure 2G/3G Mobile Broadband parameters, in Settings, tap Modem.
Ÿ The Date and Time you set will appear on the Status bar on the home screen. Ÿ Configure the Modem parameters as required.
Ÿ Tap OK to save.
Analog Clock

Ÿ In Settings, tap Analog Clock. Wi-Fi Settings


Ÿ Analog Clock will appear on the home screen.
Ÿ To configure Wi-Fi parameters, in Settings, tap Wi-Fi.
Ÿ Configure the Wi-Fi parameters as required.
Digital Clock
Ÿ Tap OK to save.
Ÿ In Settings, tap Digital Clock.
Ÿ Digital Clock will appear on the home screen. PASSWORD
Wallpaper You need a password to access Admin, HR and e-Canteen menus. The default passwords to
these menus are:
Ÿ To change wall paper, in Settings, tap Wall paper. Ÿ Admin Password: 1234
Ÿ Tap the desired Wall paper thumbnail. Ÿ HR Password: 1111
Ÿ The selected wall paper will appear on the home screen. Ÿ e-Canteen Password: Same as HR password.
You can change the Admin and HR passwords to the desired values.
Server Settings

Ÿ To configure Server parameters, in Settings, tap Server Settings. Changing Admin Password
Ÿ Configure the following parameters as required. Ÿ Tap the Menu icon on the home screen.
- Server IP Address Ÿ Tap Admin.
- Subnet Mask Ÿ Tap the Password field to invoke the numeric keypad.
- Gateway Address Ÿ Enter the current Admin Password and tap OK.
- Port Ÿ Go to Settings > Password
- Connect via - IP Address or Domain Name Ÿ Enter the new password and tap OK.
Ÿ Tap OK to save.
Changing HR Password Write Events
• Tap the Menu icon on the home screen.
• Tap HR. • Make sure the USB device is connected to the COSEC NGT FCX.
• Tap the Password field to invoke the numeric keypad. • To download event logs from the COSEC NGT FCX, tap Write Events.
• Enter the current HR Password and tap OK. • Connect the USB device to the computer on which the COSEC Server.
• Tap Password. • To view the event logs, open the COSEC monitor.
• Enter the new password and tap OK. • Go to Tools > Data Transfer
• In Data Transfer, select Download.

e-Canteen
If you forget the HR password, you may set it to the default value from the Admin menu. Matrix offers e-Canteen, an add-on module for COSEC, for easy and efficient management
of cafeteria operations.
With e-Canteen, cafeteria managers can reduce waiting time, speed up payments, manage

Follow the steps described for changing the HR Password. If you have the Matrix Cafeteria Management module installed on your COSEC Server, you
can configure the COSEC NGT FCX as an e-Canteen device by following these steps:

1. Create COSEC NGT FCX as Direct Door on the COSEC Server application.
BACKUP AND UPDATE • Go to Devices>Door.
• Click Add Door and select NGT Direct Door in the Select Door Type list.

Ÿ Tap Admin and enter the Admin Password.
Ÿ Tap Backup and Update.
2. Configure e-Canteen on the COSEC Server.
• Go to e-Canteen>Masters.
Restore Configuration • In Item Master, create a list of items to be sold with names, price and discount
levels.
• First, copy the configuration you want to upload on to a USB device from the COSEC • In Menu Master, create menus and add items to each menu.

Upgrade Firmware

• To upgrade firmware of COSEC NGT FCX, tap Upgrade Firmware.
• In the NGT Direct Door Parameters window, click the Edit button.
• In Basic Parameters, go to Application, and then select e-Canteen from the list. Mark items as 'Available’
• Click the Save button.
Ÿ To mark restocked items, tap Item Available.
Ÿ A list of items you marked as Sold Out will appear.
4. Assign users to the e-Canteen device on the COSEC Server.
• Go to Users > User Configuration > e-Canteen. Ÿ Tap the item to be marked as available.
• Allow e-Canteen, define discount level and account type: prepaid or postpaid. Ÿ These items will appear again on the serving menu.

Mark items as 'Sold Out’


Ÿ Repeat these steps to select as many items as you want.
Ÿ To mark out-of-stock items, tap Item Sold Out. Ÿ Once your order is completed, tap Pay Bill on the bottom of the screen.
Ÿ A list of items will appear. Ÿ Show your credential – Finger, Read Only card or Smart Card.
Ÿ Tap the item to be marked as sold out. Ÿ Your transaction details will appear on the screen with a confirmation.
Ÿ Collect your bill from the printer (if connected).
To use this feature, do the following:
Ÿ Activate Time Stamping and configure its parameters on the COSEC Server
application.
Ÿ You must Pay Bill within 10 seconds of the last item you selected, or your selection

When Customized Message is configured as greetings, the user will be greeted with the
TIME STAMPING message, audio and image, on the date you have specified.
Time stamping enables you to capture the images of the users when they attempt
authentication at the door, during a particular time period. You can have time stamping
triggered when users are allowed access or denied access, or in both conditions. COSEC
NGT FCX has an in-built camera for capturing images.
