Since its inception in 1949, Grand Canyon University (GCU) has been a Christian
institution of higher education. GCU stands out from other universities because it aims to
educate from a Christian perspective and its staff and professors are committed to upholding
Christian beliefs, practices, and values in their classrooms. The Christian worldview and the
values of the Bible are woven throughout every course. Graduates of GCU apply what they've
learned about God, faith, work, and value to their value systems, ethical decision-making,
disciplines, and vocations (Grand Canyon University, n.d) . Knowledge in non-faith education is
more secular and taught without favoring any religion over another.
My decision to enroll at GCU was influenced not just by the institution's doctrinal tenets
but also by the thorough incorporation of those tenets into the educational process. Scripture has
been fundamental to GCU's history and has helped the university stand out. Students and
teachers benefit from having a shared set of values to work toward. The doctrinal statement and
the founding documents alone have a stronger basis than any secular institution of higher
education.

my knowledge of both fields. This will aid in developing my worldview and prepare me to assist
others in my professional field better. This exemplifies GCU's commitment to its fundamental
value of service. Most importantly, it creates world-minded individuals who will go on to serve
it. There has never been a greater need for compassionate, generous leaders who seek the greater
To understand the world completely, students at GCU combine religious studies with
physics, astronomy, and other sciences. It aims to give kids a chance to grow spiritually and
participate in experiences that will help them learn more about God and their place in the world.
Students and faculty at GCU have the chance to worship and deepen their relationship with God
at weekly Chapel and the Gathering programs. It also encourages students to join "Life Groups,"
where they can get to know and study the Bible with like-minded peers. Also available are local
