Engineering Project Risk Management

Project objective: Timely completion

Critical Path Method (CPM) for scheduling
• Quiz questions are for you to prepare for the final
assessment. It is your task to develop and document
solutions after each session for your reference prior to the
exam. Quiz questions are also briefly discussed in weekly
sessions.
• Project reports – 30% of the total mark for this unit (due
on Friday of week 12).

Important notes

• Weekly sessions are unique opportunities to ask any questions

related to your learning and project submission.

• Based on the handbook, the required workload for this unit is at

least 6 hours of independent study per week (in addition to the
3-hour contact time). Please spend 3- 4 hours each week
working on your project report. This is the absolute minimum
for applying the learning of each week to your project report.

Risk scenario is an event with undesirable impact on
project's objectives.

These objectives could be related to the project's schedule

and in this session we start working on deterministic project
scheduling. Probabilistic scheduling techniques that
consider uncertainty are covered later in the semester.
