How the fathers handled it

 The Maccabean revolt and the conquests of the hasmonean dynasty are written in the books of
Maccabees 1&2. The Maccabees openly celebrated the hasmonean dynasty, which was full of
corruption.
 The fathers could not canonize such writings, which were full of inaccuracies and had a lower
form of writing in regard to authority and authenticity from God. The writings celebrated human
conquests, religion and politics more than the works and deeds of God.
 These writings and events happened during the intertestamental period ( The 400 years of
silence) when God did not raise any new prophets or sent any new messages to the Jewish
people that’s why this book was rejected .
