“A RESOLUTION HUMBLY REQUESTING HONORABLE JOSEPH J. ODAN, DISTRICT II

SANGGUNIANG PANLALAWIGAN (SP) MEMBER OF THIS PROVINCE TO ALLOCATE FUNDS
FOR THE SOLAR POWERED LIGHTS TO BE INSTALLED TO ALL SCHOOL BUILDINGS AND
WITHIN THE COMPOUND OF ALFONSO LISTA CENTRAL SCHOOL (ALCS) - BARANGAY SANTA
MARIA, ALFONSO LISTA, IFUGAO”

WHEREAS, the Department of Education (DepEd) allocated a minimal budget for Maintenance and
Other Operating Expenses (MOOE). This MOOE fund is purposely intended for the payments of
utility bills (electric/water etc), purchase of supplies and among others;

WHEREAS, due to off-grid nature of solar powered lights - this incur minimal operational costs, a
delight for environmentalists around the world as it can provide significant lowering of carbon
footprint of individuals, homes and businesses;

WHEREAS, solar powered lights are wireless in nature and require almost zero maintenance, and
due to the absence of external wires, these lights do not pose any threat of accidents like
electrocution, strangulation and overheating;

WHEREAS, in the School Improvement Plan (SIP) for CY 2022-2024, the installation of solar
powered lights to all buildings and within the premises of ALCS is one of the priority projects
identified during the planning meeting and is deemed important since it will illuminate the school
buildings and compound throughout the night irrespective of power cuts and grid failures,
operating cost for electricity bill will be lowered thus, additional savings for the school.

WHEREAS, the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) of ALCS goal to materialize their desire that
solar powered lights be installed in the school buildings and within the premises of the school to
provide illumination during the night especially during a power outage thus, watchman/tanods
and guards can easily see any malicious attempts to the school properties, hence appealed
earnestly for the consideration of this request;

NOW THEREFORE, on motion of Hon. Teofilo Hub-on, Jr., PTA President & Barangay Kagawad-
Committee Chair on Education duly seconded by all the members of the PTA in assembly, be it;

RESOLVED, as it is hereby RESOLVED to humbly request the Honorable SP Member Joseph J.

Odan to cause the funding of the Solar Powered Lights to be installed in the buildings and within
the premises of Alfonso Lista Central School of Barangay Santa Maria, Alfonso Lista, Ifugao.

RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish a copy of this Resolution to the Office of the Honorable SP
Member Joseph J. Odan for his information, reference and appropriate action.
