We will be going on a school trip to the National Museum next Saturday. The details are as
follow:
Date : 6 March
Departure time : 8.00 a.m. ( Please gather at the hall by 7:45 a.m. )
Fee : RM 10.00
The Prehistoric Gallery –The formation of the Malay Archipelago, and findings of important
prehistoric archeological sites in Malaysia, such as stone tools used during the Paleolithic
and Neolithic Ages.
The Malay Kingdoms Gallery – The development of early settlements, the emergence of
Malay sultanates, the rise of Melaka as a trading centre, and the coming of Islam.
The Colonial Era Gallery – The beginning of foreign influence from the Portuguese, Dutch,
British and lastly the Japanese occupation during World War Two.
The Malaysia Today Gallery –The road towards independence, the formation of Malaysia,
and the achievements obtained until today.
Those who are interested, please get the form from the club president. Please submit the
form with your parent’s/guardian’s signature and the fee.

11:00 a.m. Dragon puppets craft workshop (For children aged 8 to 10 years)
2:00 p.m. Traditional lion dance performance
2.30 p.m. High-pole lion dance performance
4:00 p.m. Chinese face-changing performance (Bian Lian)
5:00 p.m. Chinese instrumental performance
Eng Kiat : Mum, let’s go to Golden Triangle Mall this Saturday. There’s a lion dance performance at 2:00
o’clock. They’re going to present the traditional and the acrobatic lion dances.
Mrs Tan : That’s a good idea. We can do some shopping while there, too.
Eng Kiat : I’ve never watched a lion dance performance live before. I’m sure it would be much more
interesting than watching it on television. If we go early. We’re able to watch traditional
Chinese dance performance too.
Wan Kit : Mum, I’d like to take part in the lantern craft workshop. It’s at 4:00 p.m.
Mrs Tan : All right. You may join the workshop while I do the shopping.
