A smartphone’s design keeps changing over time. What are some benefits and drawbacks of this?
In the morden world, demand for using smartphones is increasing day by day. Understanding it,
manufactures continously produce many smartphones with eye-catching designs. This not only
helps customers have some choices, but also helps smartphone brands increase their income. But
this also leads to a lot of drawbacks to society and the environment.
On the other hand, the way companies change their smartphone’ design in the short time can help
people to have choices, and I see this as a positive trend. In the large society, there are many
people of many ages, genders, and favourites. So, they always want to have a smartphone that is
suitable for personal needs. When the technology market has a lot of smartphone’s designs, it
will be easy for customers to choose their product. Similarly, woman tend to chose smartphones
with pastel color but man like using smartphones with dark color. It is clear from the need to use
phones with different designs has become more popular in morden life.
However, I would also argue that changing smartphone’s design is still relevant in society and
the environment. When the brand releases a new phone model, some people will tend to buy it,
especially the youth. This leads to waste a lot of money and time, when people are so engrossed
in keeping up with the trend that they forget their current jobs. And changing phone over time
can cause some consequences for the environment. For example, inproper disposal can turn
phone into electronic waste, they can contain toxic subtances such as mercury and amiang,
polluting the environment and affecting human health.
In conclusion, I support the smartphone’ design keeps changing for customers to have more
choices, but I want people to make sure to recycle their phone when it is no longer used.
