Punjab Lok Sabha Election Results 2024 Live: Today at 8 am, the tallying of ballots
for the 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in Punjab commenced across 117 counting
locations.
The INC was the single largest party in Punjab, winning 08 out of 13 in 2019 Lok
Sabha elections with Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) and BJP winning two seats each.
AAP won one seat.
In the 2014 Lok Sabha elections SAD and BJP won four seats each and INC won 3
seats. AAP won two seats.
Punjab recorded around 62% voting turnout out of over 2.14 crore eligible
electors in its 13 Lok Sabha constituencies on Saturday sealing the fate of 328
candidates, including 26 women, in fray amid reports of electronic voting
machines (EVMs) malfunctioning and minor clashes at afew places in sweltering
heat.
The exit poll for the Punjab Lok Sabha elections 2024 was announced on Saturday.
According to exit poll predictions by Matrize, AAP will get 3-6 seats, SAD will get
1-4 seats, BJP will get 0-2 seats and Congress will get 0-3 seats.
The 13 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state are Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Khadoor
Sahib, Jalandhar, Hoshiarpur, Anandpur Sahib, Ludhiana, Fatehgarh Sahib,

Punjab Lok Sabha Election Results Live: Big win for AAP's Gurmeet Singh
AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer won from Punajb's Sangrur Lok Sabha seat after
defeating his nearest rival and Congress party's Sukhpal Singh Khaira, according to the
Election Commission. Hayer trounced Khaira by a margin of 1,72,560 votes. Sangrur
parliamentary constituency is considered as the AAP's citadel.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer won the Sangrur seat by a margin of
172560 votes. Hayer got a total of 364085 votes against the second-placed finisher Sukhpal
Singh Khaira of Congress, who got 191525 votes. SAD (A)'s Simranjit Singh Mann finished
third after getting 187246 votes.

Former Punjab Chief Minister and Congress candidate Charanjit Singh Channi won from the
Jalandhar constituency of Punjab by a comfortable margin of 1,75,993, as per the data from
the Election Commission of India. The polling in Jalandhar was held in the final phase of the
Lok Sabha polls - June 1. The voter turnout was recorded at 59.70% against 63.04% in the
2019 Lok Sabha polls.

Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi on Tuesday won from the Jalandhar reserve
parliamentary constituency by a margin of 1,75,993 votes, according to the ECI. Channi, the
former Punjab chief minister, trounced the BJP's Sushil Rinku. Channi polled 3.90 lakh votes
as against his nearest rival Rinku, who secured 2.14 lakh votes. Aam Aadmi Party nominee
Pawan Kumar Tinu remained at the third spot with 2.08 lakh votes while Shiromani Akali Dal
candidate Mohinder Singh Kaypee got 67,911 votes.

Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi won by a margin of 175993 votes in Jalandhar.
Channi got a total of 390053 votes. BJP's Sushil Kumar Rinku finished second with 214060
votes.

Congress party's Kulbir Singh Zira by a margin of 114995 votes.
Amritpal, the chief of the 'Waris Punjab De' outfit and is currently lodged in Assam's Dibrugarh
jail under the National Security Act, fought the election as an independent.
2. Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, who contested as an independent, was leading in Faridkot against
his nearest rival AAP's Karamjit Singh Anmol by a margin of 57,107 votes.
Khalsa is the son of one of the two assassins of late Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

SAD's Harsimrat Kaur Badal, who is the three-time MP, is leading in Bathinda seat by a margin
of 40,410 votes against AAP's Gurmeet Singh Khuddian.
The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) was leading in one parliamentary constituency besides two
independents, including radical preacher Amritpal Singh.
Congress candidates were leading from Amritsar, Jalandhar, Fatehgarh Sahib, Gurdaspur,
Patiala, Ferozepur and Ludhiana seats and the AAP was ahead in Hoshiarpur, Sangrur and
Anandpur Sahib, the trends showed.
Congress party's Charanjit Singh Channi was way ahead of his nearest rival and BJP candidate
Sushil Rinku in Jalandhar reserve constituency.
Channi, who is the former Punjab chief minister, was leading by 1,21,850 votes.
Congress' Sukhjinder Randhawa, who is the former deputy chief minister was leading in
Gurdaspur seat against his nearest rival BJP's Dinesh Singh Babbu by a margin of 27,605
votes.
In Amritsar, Congress candidate Gurjeet Singh Aujla was leading against his nearest rival and
BJP's Taranjit Singh Sandhu by a margin of 15,632 votes.
Congress candidate Amar Singh, who is the sitting MP, was also leading in Fatehgarh Sahib
against the AAP's Gurpreet Singh GP by 18,839 votes.
Congress nominee Amrinder Singh Raja Warring was leading in Ludhiana by a margin of
15,664 votes against BJP's Ravneet Singh Bittu.
Congress party's Sher Singh Ghubaya was ahead by 4,259 votes in Ferozepur seat against
AAP's Jagdeep Singh Kaka Brar.
Congress party's Dharamvira Gandhi was leading by 7,651 votes against AAP's Balbir Singh in
Patiala.
AAP's Raj Kumar Chabbewal was leading in Hoshiarpur by a margin of 19,615 votes against
Congress's Yamini Gomar while AAP's Malvinder Singh Kang was ahead in Anandpur Sahib
seat by a margin of 3,323 votes against Congress party's Vijay Inder Singla.
AAP's Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer maintained a healthy lead in Sangrur seat. He was ahead by
a margin of 1,12,805 votes against SAD (Amritsar) candidate Simranjit Singh Mann.

Sarabjeet Singh Khalsa, who contested as an independent, was leading in Faridkot against his
nearest rival AAP's Karamjit Singh Anmol by a margin of 51,261 votes. Khalsa is the son of

four-time MP from Patiala parliamentary constituency, is trailing by 4,763 votes.

Jailed Khalistani separatist and Waris Punjab De Chief Amritpal Singh is leading by 50,405
votes from Punjab's Khadoor Sahib seat in the Lok Sabha elections 2024, according to the
latest trends shown by Election Commission of India.
Amritpal Singh is contesting as an independent candidate. Congress leader Kulbir Singh Zira is
trailing behind, while the Aam Aadmi Party candidate is trailing by 51,328 votes.
The pro-Khalistani leader was arrested by Punjab police in April last year, weeks after evading
police for over a month and the stringent National Security Act was invoked against him.
The Khadoor Sahib seat was won by the Congress' Jasbir Singh Gill in 2019. The Congress has
nominated Kuldeep Singh Zira for the seat while the BJP has nominated Manjit Singh Manna.
Laljit Singh Bhullar will represent the AAP and the Akali Dal will be represented by Virsa Singh
Valtoha.

AAP candidate Gurmeet Singh Meet Hayer is leading in Punjab's Sangrur Lok Sabha seat

Hayer was leading by 44,412 votes against sitting MP Mann, according to the Election
Commission data. Sangrur parliamentary constituency is considered as the AAP's citadel.

Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi was leading in the Jalandhar reserve parliamentary
constituency against his nearest rival and BJP candidate Sushil Rinku in the initial trends,
according to the Election Commission. The former Punjab chief minister was leading by
38,642 votes against Rinku, who is the sitting MP.

Amritpal was leading by a margin of 30,987 votes against Zira, a former MLA.

Exuding confidence over INDIA bloc's victory in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, Congress
candidate from Amritsar, Gurjeet Singh Aujla said that a new government will be formed in
the country.
"Counting for the 18th Lok Sabha is about to begin. A new, democratically elected
government will be formed in the country. We hope the INDIA alliance forms the
government".
Aujla stated that at least 8-9 seats will be won by the Congress party in Punjab and overall
"295 seats" will be won by them.
Gurjeet Singh Aujla is in the electoral fray against Taranjit Singh Sandhi, who retired after
serving as the Indian envoy to the United States, AAP's Kuldeep Singh Dhaliwal, and
Shiromani Akali Dal's Anil Joshi.
While the AAP and Congress are contesting with a seat-sharing agreement in Delhi, both
parties are fighting individually in Punjab.
