A. Things to do before installation
1. Back up your existing data file and save the existing Premier or Accounting
folder. Go to Start> Computer> C drive > Save. It is recommended to save it
in a familiar location, for instant, the desktop or an external hard disk for
safekeeping.
2. Windows 8 and Windows 10 user are advise to perform the Windows update,
before installing the ABSS new version upgrade.
3. Make sure to disable your PC’s antivirus or firewall setting temporarily to
enable the file to be downloaded. You can turn on the antivirus or firewall
setting once the installation process is completed.
Note:
If you need your backup files for future reference, please choose to keep the lower
versions file. Once the data file is upgraded to a newer version, you will not be able to
open the upgraded file on a lower version software.
1. Open the newly installed Premier program and you will see a “Welcome”
screen. Select Open Company File and browse to select your data file.
2. The system will prompt you with a message:
“This company file has not been upgraded. Do you want to upgrade?”
3. Select “Yes” to proceed with the upgrade.
4. The program will automatically save the upgraded file in the Local C: drive
ABSS_Premier v23.10/ ABSS_Accounting v28.10 folder.
5. If your forms are customized in the previous version software, you will
Upgrade need to make a copy of the folder “Custom, Forms, Graphics, Letters”.
Place the folder in your ABSS_Premier v23.10/ ABSS_Accounting v28.10
Instruction folder located in Local C: drive.
NOTE: When you open the file next time, you will need to select the file from the
ABSS Premier 23.10 or Accounting 28.10 folder.
