**The Hideous Woman**

With face like a map of craters and scars,

She walks through the streets, a sight to jar.

Her eyes, like two dark caverns, void of light,

Seem to suck in the world, a perpetual blight.

Her skin, a mass of wrinkles and folds,

A topography of age and stories untold.

Her voice, a creaking gate, a rusty wheel,

Sounds out her words, a bitter reveal.

Her laughter, a hacking cough, a wheeze,

Echoes through the streets, a grotesque tease.

Her beauty, a myth, a distant dream,

A cruel joke, a taunt, a hideous scheme.

Yet still she walks, with feet of stone,

Through crowds that part, like waves before a throne.

Her presence casts a shadow, dark and cold,

A reminder of mortality's hold.

For in her hideous face, we see our own,

A reflection of our fears, our doubts, our moans.
