EDU 110 MEETING

SUMMARY OF DISCUSSION.

EDU 110 . Physical and sports literacy is mandatory unit for all education Students as it is a
requirement for graduation.The unit is offered by the department of physical education,
exercise and sports science

1. All students should take the unit seriously to avoid retakes as most students fail in the unit as
it has been observed in previous years.

2. LECTURES GROUPING .

The department has proposed eight groupings according to reg no .and education courses .

Each students should stick to their relevant groups TO AVOID issues of missing marks .

The groupings chart is circulating in various Whatsapp groups

3. ASSESSEMENT

CAT 1 -20 MARKS .

Theory part done after the six weeks of the end of thoery lectures .

CAT 2 - 20 MARKS .

Comprises of practical aspects...Recording and interpretation of the data is done individually

by all students and results submitted to the respective facilitators through an online platform
provided by the lecturer .

Failure to attend any of the practicals will result to missing marks .

END OF SEMESTER EXAMINATION - 60 MARKS .

Done at the end of the semester .

REQUEST FOR MAKE UP CATs .

Incase a student fails to take any of the CATs he or she should request for a make up CAT
through writing to the head of department with relevant attachments supporting your reasons
for not taking the CAT .

The department only accepts the following reasons .

I)sickness supported by an evidence of written by an health officer .

Ii)Death of relatives

iii)Police arrest to provide a screenshot of OB as an evidence.

4.GENERAL OUTLOOK OF THE UNIT

The unit comprises of two aspects .

( I) Theory aspect .

To be covered within the first six weeks of the semester with a sitting CAT .Classes should be
attended as indicated in the timetable

(Ii)Practical aspect.

To be covered in four weeks .All students taking this unit MUST attend all the practicals .Failure
to attend to any of the practicals will lead to missings marks .

Worth noting

Recording and interpretation of the data is done individually by all students and results
submitted to the respective facilitators through an online platform provided by the lecturer .All
students should submit theirs marks in time .

5.SPORT ATTIRES .

All students taking the unit should purchase suitable sport attires .Tracksuits ,sweatpants,sports
shoes any of your choice .

STUDENTS with no sports attires will be expelled from taking practical classes.

It was advised you take meals well for your physical fitness.

Familiarise yourself with your classreps to get relevant information .

Maintain etiquette in the WhatsApp groups
