Temp Seal Oil Filter Warning
Temp Seal Oil Filter Warning
Temp Seal Oil Filter Warning
Revision a
Significance The seal oil temperature downstream of the aligned cooler is high.
Consequences If the seal oil temperature rises further, proper sealing and lubrica-
tion of the generator shaft seals will no longer be ensured due to low
oil viscosity.
Further Measures Check the seal oil temperature at the local indicator
(41/42MKW21 CT501) to verify the correct function of the tem-
perature transmitter (41/42MKW21 CT001).
Ensure that the cooling water inlet valve of the aligned seal oil
cooler (41/42MKW21/22 AC001) is fully open.
Ensure that the aligned seal oil cooler is properly vented in both
paths.
Check the cooling water outlet temperature of the aligned seal
oil cooler to verify sufficient cooling water flow. If neces-
sary/possible, increase the cooling water flow by further opening
the cooling water outlet valve.
Check the seal oil temperature control valve (41/42MKW21
AA173) for correct function/setting. If the temperature control
valve has failed, close the shutoff valves (41/42MKW21
AA265/275/295), open the bypass shutoff valve (41/42MKW21
AA285) and control the seal oil temperature by appropriate
manual operation/adjustment of the cooler bypass control valve
(41/42MKW21 AA273).
If necessary, change over to the filled and vented stand-by seal
oil cooler by repositioning the dedicated multi-way valve
(41/42MKW21 AA261). Inspect the cooler that has been shut off
with regard to fouling and carry out further measures as required
according to manufacturer's instructions during the next outage
of the unit. Afterwards re-establish the operational readiness of
the cooler.
Ascertain the cause of the deviation and eliminate it as soon as
possible.
Remarks All actions for fault finding and troubleshooting shall be performed in
compliance with the Operating Manual of the generator.
