Hi all, Having learned the materials in Session 6, now please discuss the following questions.

1.How would you explain the difference between a cover letter and a CV?

2.Why are CVs important for job seekers and what information should a job applicant include in a
CV?

Answer

1. Both CVs and job application letters clearly have differences. As the name suggests, a CV

(curriculum vitae) is basically a curriculum vitae in which a person's life journey shows what

education, training and work they have done. Meanwhile, a job application letter is a letter that is a

form of communication between two people. The person applying and the person or recruiter who is

at the workplace to which he or she is applying.

So, the difference between a CV and a job application letter is that the answer is two very different

things. A CV is usually attached along with a job application letter to make it easier for recruiters to

recognize you before the interview process is carried out.

The job application letter consists of:

1.Address and date are set correctly

2. Opening greetings

3.Body paragraph 1: Reason for writing, where you saw the ad

4. Body paragraph 2: Why are you interested in the job?

5.Body paragraph 3: Experience, qualifications, skills

6.Body paragraph 4: Personal qualities

7.Closing greeting, signature and name printed

While the Curriculum Vitae consists of:

1.Contact information (name, address, phone number, email)

2. Short profile of yourself

3. Work experience

4.Educational background

5. Skills and qualifications that support the profession

Additional points that can be included:

-Organizational/volunteer experience

-Courses and training attended

-Affiliations and professional memberships

-Awards and certifications ever received

2. One of the documents that must be prepared in the job application process is a Curriculum Vitae

or CV, because this document contains detailed information regarding a person's personal data

such as contact information (name, address, telephone number, email), brief personal profile, work

experience, background education, skills and qualifications that support the profession and can add

several points such as organizational/volunteer experience, courses and training attended,

professional affiliations and memberships, awards and certifications received

The important points included in the Curriculum Vitae:

1.Contact information (name, address, phone number, email)

2. Short profile of yourself

3. Work experience

4.Educational background
5. Skills and qualifications that support the profession

Additional points that can be included:

-Organizational/volunteer experience

-Courses and training attended
