A. Applicability

This Service Bulletin has been introduced in production to these LEAP-1A engines:

• LEAP-1A engines, serial numbers 599-477 and 599-800 and up.

These serial numbers are the best available data.
The electronic engine control (EEC) full authority digital electronic control (FADEC) software P/N 2590M00P10
(version L1A0610) and prognostic health monitoring (PHM) software P/N 2784M64P05 (version PL1A0610) or
earlier are affected by this Service Bulletin.

B. Concurrent requirements
None.
For aircraft requirements, refer to the Airbus Service Bulletin A320-73-1141.

C. Reason
(1) Objective:
To introduce new parts.

(2) Condition:
Modifications are intended to improve light off during starting and address field findings.

(3) Cause:
Product improvement.

(4) Improvement:
The improvements to the EEC FADEC and PHM software are as follow:
• Fuel enrichment to improve ground light off
• Improved thrust control malfunction accommodation (TCMA) cutback test during menu mode idle test
• Correction of erroneous engagement of TCMA cutback while in test cell mode
• Improved fuel control pressure-limiting logic to account for fuel nozzle coking and mitigate fuel pump relief
events
• Change of fuel flow calculation while on TCMA cutback
• Make the single modulated turbine cooling (MTC) configuration the default
• Annunciate autothrust inoperative (ATHR INOP) with loss of communication between the flight control unit
(FCU) and engine interface unit (EIU)
• Change of single area non-volatile memory (NVM) fault to short time and dual area NVM fault to no-dispatch
• Change of dual channel oil temperature fault to no-dispatch
• Change of exhaust gas temperature (EGT) exceedance report to include sub-idle EGT
• Change of fan position indication fault from long time to unlimited
• Update of various PHM reports

(5) Substantiation:
Substantiation is by comparative analysis.

D. Description
This Service Bulletin releases a new EEC FADEC software P/N 2590M00P11 (version L1A0720) and PHM
software P/N 2784M64P06 (version PL1A0720).
The EEC FADEC software P/N 2590M00P11 (version L1A0720) and PHM software P/N 2784M64P06 (version
PL1A0720) are compatible with all EEC part numbers. This software release is commonly referred to as FCS7.0
software.

This recommendation is to address a condition that may result in a Non-Event operational disruption, Unscheduled
Engine Removals (UER), Out-Station-Removals or Aircraft on the Ground (AOG).

NOTE: This Service Bulletin can be done on wing or in shop.

This Service Bulletin is offered to improve the reliability or performance of your CFM product, or to help prevent
the occurrence of the event or condition described in this Service Bulletin. If the operator elects not to participate
in the bulletin, that decision will be taken into consideration by CFM in evaluating future product performance
issues that may arise in the operator’s fleet.

N. Interchangeability

- Two-way interchangeable at engine level with the previous software version FCS6.0 introduced by LEAP-1A
S/B 73-0034 (Refer to SB: LEAP-1A-73-00-0034-01A-930A-D).
- Mixability is not allowed at engine level (both EEC's on an engine must contain the same EEC software). For
interchangeability and mixability requirements at aircraft level, refer to Airbus Service Bulletin A320-73-1141.

NOTE: CFM engine production configuration is one-way interchangeable as specified in the List of
removed spares in paragraph 4., MATERIAL INFORMATION.

4. MATERIAL INFORMATION

Use an approved portable data loader (PDL) (refer to the Airbus Service Bulletin A320-73-1141).
Teledyne control cable (P/N 80080-1).
CFM reprogramming cable (P/N 9471M34G01 or P/N 9471M34G02).
Airlines/shops performing the EEC modification must request the following master reprogramming disk from BAE Sys-
tems Product Support Engineering (PSE). This is a one-time requirement and should be retained for the life of the
modification program. Therefore, only one of each disk is required for each approved airline/shop.

5. ACCOMPLISHMENT INSTRUCTIONS
A. General
(1) If you do the reprogramming of the EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01, Figure 1) on wing, do as follows:
(a) Do the reprogramming of the EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01). Refer to the Airbus Service Bulletin
A320-73-1141 for the Airbus A318/A319/A320/A321 AMM task.

(b) For all LEAP-1A engine model configurations that have not complied with LEAP-1A S/B 73-0034 (Refer
to SB: LEAP-1A-73-00-0034-01A-930A-D), get and upload the open multimedia application platform
(OMAP) released in LEAP-1A S/B 73-0034 and referenced below:
• EEC OMAP software CD part number [for EEC VIN 115E6331G4 (P/N 2500M34P05)]: 364A6253P10
• EEC OMAP software CD part number [for EEC VIN 115E6331G5 (P/N 2500M34P06) or higher]:
364A6253P11

(2) If you do the reprogramming of the EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01, Figure 1) in shop, do as follows:
(a) Do the reprogramming of the EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01). Refer to the CMM, 73-21-55, Elec-
tronic Engine Control.

(b) For all LEAP-1A engine model configurations that have not complied with LEAP-1A S/B 73-0034 (Refer
to SB: LEAP-1A-73-00-0034-01A-930A-D), get and upload the open multimedia application platform
(OMAP) released in LEAP-1A S/B 73-0034 and referenced below:
• EEC OMAP software CD part number [for EEC VIN 115E6331G4 (P/N 2500M34P05)]: 364A6253P10
• EEC OMAP software CD part number [for EEC VIN 115E6331G5 (P/N 2500M34P06) or higher]:
364A6253P11

(3) Update the software identification plate (metallic sticker) on the EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01, Figure
1) as follows:

(a) Use a ballpoint pen to cross-out the old EEC (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01) software part number. Make
sure that you can read the old part number and do as follows:

1 If the software identification plate is blank, continue with step 5.A.(3)(b).

(b) Use a ballpoint pen to write the new EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01) software part number and
version reference on the installed metallic sticker on the EECs (SIN: 65H00 and SIN: 65H01). Do not
add the EEC OMAP or PHM software part number. Refer to Table 1 below for a software identification
plate update example:
