How does our training process work?

During our training program, our staffers will go over a 2-week preparation period divided into
two stages. The first week will cover the generalities of international trade and logistics industry,
we will walk them through the different concepts and definitions involved in international trade
operations and the difference between each process. The second week will cover focused
training about freight forwarding operations, the different modes of transportation, and the
different processes involved in each shipment. We have developed a detailed syllabus composed
of 19 topics based on our customer´s requirements that guarantees their satisfaction and complete
preparation of new staffer and their adaptation process to the operation.

As part of our commitment to provide our customers with a qualified talent for each required
position, it is relevant to implement a complete Freight Forwarding training that will equip them
with the necessary knowledge to be presented to their clients by the division.

Below you can find the specific topics to be covered during this phase:

PHASE 1
 Introduction to USA: During this session, we will cover the generalities about
the USA culture including the concepts of USA regions, Zip codes, and time
zones.
 International Trade Concepts: Within the review of trade concepts, we will
introduce the general concepts and definitions of international trade such as parties
involved in the process, Imports vs Exports and Freight forwarding glossary.
 Modes of transportation: Going over the modes of transportation module the
trainees will get familiarized with the general definitions of each international
mode of transportation and the difference between each one.
 Managing system: This is one of the small but necessary modules that involve an
overview of the systems used in warehousing and international trade and the
differences between each one.
 Incoterms: Getting into the Global Forwarding specifics, the Incoterms module
will cover the definition of each incoterm, the level of responsibility between seller
and buyer and the concept and determine the Ocean and Air terms of negotiation.
 Freight Forwarding concepts: Once the trainees are familiarized with the
negotiation terminology, we will introduce them to the generalities of Freight
Forwarding, the services and responsibilities of a freight forwarder and the
different stages of a freight forwarding operation.
 Pricing: As part of our preparation for specific positions, we will offer a complete
module in which we will cover the concept of pricing, how to quote the different
modes of transportation, and the generalities of a real quotation.
 Ocean Transportation: At this stage of the training, we will go over one of the
main topics of the global forwarding operation in which the trainees will see in
detail the concept of ocean transportation, how to generate an Ocean booking, and
step by step overview about an ocean shipment.
 Type of containers: To finish our first week of training with all the necessary
knowledge we will go into detail about the different types of containers, the usage
of each one depending on the customer’s needs and special equipment. • Air
transportation:

PHASE 2
To start our second week of training our trainees will see in detail the concepts of:
 Air transportation: how to create an Air booking and the step-by-step
generalities about an air shipment including IATA cargo handling manual.
 Special Carto handling: As part of our continuous training process, we have
designed this module as a complement of Air transportation in which we will cover
the definition of special cargo, the categorization of special cargo based on the
type of commodity and the IATA regulations. •
 Drayage: Taking in account that drayage is a critical stage of the logistic chain in
international trade, we have created a complete session to explain in detail the
concept of drayage, the difference between Inland trucking and drayage and the
step-by-step overview of a drayage process.
 Loading and unloading modalities: To continue with the drayage module, we
have designed this presentation that will specify the definitions of each loading
and unloading modality, the differences between each one of them and the relation
between trucker and warehouse.
 Additional services and fees: As a closure about the drayage operation training,
we will go over this presentation to explain and clarify the additional services
involved in the drayage process, and the additional fees that can be involved in the
drayage and international trade operation.
 Carriage checklist: At this point of the training program, we start getting in touch
with the third main topic of international trade which is documentation. This topic
will cover the concept of carriage checklist and its importance in international
trade.
 Track and trace: Our training is customer service oriented, the reason why as
part of the quality customer service we have designed a complete module about
the concept and importance of track and trace in the freight forwarding operation,
the step-by-step process, and the details to check depending on each shipment.
 Documentation and customs: The customs session is designed to prepare our
trainees and familiarize them with the concept of documentation and customs, the
role of a freight forwarder and customs broker in the international trade process
and how to submit legal documentation depending on each mode of transportation.
 Appointment setting and port restrictions: To close aur second week of training
we found it important to get our trainees in touch with possible and common
scenarios that are part of the day-to-day operation. This presentation will cover the
concept and definition of appointment setting, how to request an appointment with
a warehouse and when it is necessary. Also, will go over the port restrictions based
on the season and additional fees that can be generated by the terminals.
