MAJALI MEMORIAL
ROLLING SHIELD
THE PRESTIGIOUS MAJALI MEMORIAL ROLLING SHIELD WAS
INSTITUTED IN THE YEAR 1939 BY LATE SHRI D.R. MAJALI WHO
WAS A NOTED SENIOR ADVOCATE AND A FREEDOM FIGHTER. HE
WAS ALSO ONE OF THE FOUNDING MEMBERS OF KARNATAK
LAW SOCIETY AND RAJA LAKHAMGOUDA LAW COLLEGE. THIS
SHIELD IS AWARDED TO THE TEAM THAT SECURES THE FIRST
PLACE IN ENGLISH DEBATE COMPETITION.
TOPIC: "SOCIAL MEDIA PLATORMS ARE RESPONSIBLE
FOR THE SPREAD OF MIS- INFORMATION"
BEMBALGI MEMORIAL
ROLLING SHEILD
THE PRESTIGIOUS BEMBALGI MEMORIAL ROLLING SHIELD WAS
ALSO INSTITUTED IN THE YEAR 1939 BY SHRI V.S. BEMBALGI
WHO WAS ONE OF THE FAMOUS JEWELERS OF BELAGAVI. HE
WAS AN EDUCATIONIST AND A GREAT LOVER OF KANNADA
LANGUAGE. THIS SHIELD IS AWARDED TO THE TEAM THAT
SECURES THE FIRST PLACE IN KANNADA DEBATE COMPETITION.
TOPIC: "ಭಾಷಾವಾರು ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯ ರಚನೆ ದೇಶದ ಏಕತೆಗೆ ಮಾರಕವಾಗಿದೆ"
RULES
1) The Debate Competitions are open to all colleges.
2) The team of Raja Lakhamgouda Law College (being the host college) is neither
entitled to get the Shields nor the individual merit prizes.
3) Each College is requested to send two teams: one for English Debate and another
for Kannada Debate.
4) Each team should consist of two participants: one speaking for the proposal and
the other against the proposal.
5)Participants shall report along with Identity cards to the Chairperson, Debating
Union, Raja Lakhamgouda Law College, at least 30 minutes before the scheduled
time.
6) Each speaker will be allotted (4+1) minutes.
7) The entry fee for each team will be Rs. 300 +(18% GST) i.e 54 - Total Rs. 354/-
which is not refundable. The registration fee may be sent through Demand draft
drawn in favour of, 'PRINCIPAL, R. L. Law College, BELAGAVI ' payable at Belagavi.

Participants may also pay the fees on the spot at the time on the day of
Registration. KINDLY RENDER EXACT CHANGE.
8)The respective Rolling Shields will be awarded to the teams to be adjudged as the
"Best Teams" by the Panel of Judges. Individual cash prizes will be awarded to the
participants securing first three places in each debate in the following order:
1 st Prize- Rs. 5000+ Certificate
2nd Prize- Rs. 3000+ Certificate
3rd Prize- Rs. 2000+ Certificate
9)The Decision of the Panel of Judges is final and binding.
