Assembly Procedure

Assure that the latest Revision Level Assembly Drawing is utilized.

Read entire manual before proceeding.

Install all “O” Rings and Lubricate with NC111.

Apply API pipe dope to all threads.

1. Place COLLAR (700-CE-123) in vise.

2. Apply Teflon tape on the 3/8” NPT Pipe Plug.

3. Install the 3/8” NPT Pipe Plug into the top end of the COLLAR.

4. Make up the QUICK DISCONNECT NIPPLE (SST-N3M) into the RING
WELD, using Teflon tape on the threads.

5. Slide the RING WELD (700-CE-111) over the top end of the COLLAR until it
shoulders out and is over the “O” RINGS.

If Non Top Drive Assembly is required, go to step 10

6. Install the TOP SUB (700-CE-121) onto the top of the COLLAR. Torque to
3,500 ft-lbs.

7. Make up Set Screw into relief groove to prevent thread back off.

8. Install TUBE A into the bottom of the COLLAR. Torque tight.

9. Proceed to TEST SECTION.

FOR NON TOP DRIVE APPLICATIONS, INSTALL COLUMN SUB ASSEMBLY
700-NT-90

10. Make up COUPLING (700-NT-80) onto WELD ASSEMBLY (700-NT-69) and


torque to 3,000 ft-lbs.

Critical Factors & Safety Notes

All 2” 1502 hammer union connections must be verified with FMC’s Go/No-Go
Gauge (PIN P511389). The following statement must be included on shipping
paperwork:
“Supplier has verified through use of FMC’s Go/No-Go Gauge (PIN P511389) that
all external 2” hammer unions are 1502.
Sign __________________________ Date _____________________”

11. Make up COUPLING/WELD ASSEMBLY onto top of COLLAR with 3,500 ft-
lbs torque.

12. Make up SET SCREW to lock threads from backing off.

13. Make up NUT (700-NT-31) onto SUB (700-NT-36), hand tight.

14. Make up NUT/SUB onto WELD ASSEMBLY with 3,500 ft-lbs torque.

Testing Procedure

Section 4
Disassembly & Inspection Procedure

1. Clamp COLLAR in vise.

2. Remove TUBE A from lower end of COLLAR.

3. Remove Set Screw from TOP SUB (or COLUMN SUB ASSEMBLY) attached to
COLLAR.

4. Remove TOP SUB or COLUMN SUB ASSEMBLY from COLLAR.

5. Slide RING WELD off COLLAR.

6. Remove and discard all “O” RINGS.

7. Inspect seal surfaces and threads for damage.

8. Reassembly as per Section 3.
